Breeding F1

In the future of legalization and business in my state. Or collapse of the corrupt public sectors of the world, (whichever comes first).

Question:
How do you brand an F1?

A dog breeder told me that's supply and demand is most important... So they make the buyer agree to spay the dog so there's only one Doberman breeder on Island.

If I sell seeds of my F1 no one's going to buy flower, seeds, or clones from my business because everyone who buys it will be growing the exact F1?

If I sell clones the same?

So the question is how do you brand and market an F1 of your breeding?

That takes a lot to do

Not just any grower can sell seeds

Meaning

Why would I buy your seeds

So not a simple process at all
Well we live on an island so it's fundamentally different than the states.

Say a person buys the bud (and really likes it) and decides to grow it instead of buying it from me.
Why would he ever need to buy bud or seeds ever again?
Then he starts a company and sells seeds. Creates S1s of my F1 calls it something different, maybe even sells it for more makes more money than me.

There is nothing you can do to "control" a strain you create. Strains can be backcrossed so even if you only make fems someone can still breed a version of it and sell it if they really wanted to. Most people are either too lazy and/or don't have the space though so most won't.

The reason why someone would want flower still if seeds are available is because of different pheno types. Usually breeders pheno hunt their strains so they find a great cut from those hunts. If I was to buy a pack of seeds I probably wouldn't find as good of a pheno unless I hunted through more seeds like the breeder did.

S1s can be made, and they will be close to the original but won't be the exact same and I wouldn't worry about that a ton. Clones on the other hand will give them the exact same flower as you have and they may not be inclined to buy any from you if they can grow their own, unless they don't have the space or knowledge to do it.

You can ask people not to if they listen or dont such is life unfortunately unless you make sure you dont give out seeds and 0 cuts and or seeded bud you cant really control how your genetics are used its just a sad fact of the game these days be it a legal country or not that you resided in it is still gonna be the same end result .

I get what your at with the whole selling to the island thing.

Here's the deal. If you are going to give this a true shot. You need multiple strains to sell. Then only release one at a time.

Got through all your strains? Get new ones and make seeds.

Advertise new strains every time you finish up one.

Eventually you will cycle back to the originals but many will have been through the seeds you sold them.

Not everyone will be willing to do what you are doing there.

So your job will be to stay ahead of that curve of those who try to replicate.

Remember they will only have the seeds you sell to work with so when you can offer something different each time everyone else is selling what you already provided you win.
