Welcome to my Breeders Boutique and The HC Line grow thread!

Hello everyone and thanks for clicking by. I'm Duchie and I've been a grower and an RIU'er for a little over a year now and I have learned so much and come so far with the help of a bunch of great people I've met and hooked up with here. Anyway I had a thread going before and I kind of just abandoned it but I've been considering starting a new one for some time and now seems to be a good time.

I' basically wrapping up some stuff in my 2m3 tent with a 600HPS and almost everything I have coming up are either from Breeders Boutique or THC gear that I really want to keep track of and this thread will really help me do that. Now lucky for all of you, you don't have to wait to see some nice Pr0n because I've already grown a few Deep Blue F2's and have a Deep Blue X Jack The Ripper flowering right now and she's real pretty!

In the meantime, I invite anyone else to share anything that they might have going from these breeders as well. I'd really like to see what I'm in for!

OK, first thing about me. I'm a Java lover and it has to be fresh ground. Ganja & Java, ooooh yeah! On that note I need a refill so I'll be back later to get some pics up and get this thread a Rockin and Rollin!

:peace:

Hello duchie. As you know I've grown a few of the strains from the breeders boutique before it was the breeders boutique. As a fellow coffee and ganja lover I'll be happy to chime in on your thread.

The psycho killer, the deep psycho and casey jones along with the dog have all seen the inside of my garden. All fine smokes right up there with strains from much more well known breeders. I would recommend everyone to try The Dog.

Right on, appreciate the support guys.

So like I said, there's a couple of reasons for me starting this thread and one of them is for me to keep track of what's going on. I found myself going back pages in the 600 to find posts that would give me an idea of when I started 12/12 because of my lazy ass not keeping proper track. Well, any of you who know the 600 know that there are a lot of friggin pages there! Thing is, I'm not just starting a new thread, I'm changing things up in the nutes and soil mix department and a few other things so I figured a thread with a fresh start would be good. Kind of like pressing the reset button.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to start off here on the right foot. I'm going through the pics I've got and picking some stuff out, and those who know me know I have a lot of pics. I also want to lay it out in good way for everyone else so that I/we can benefit the most from everyone's input. It's a lot easier when you can see the picture clearly. So, I'd like to tell a quick story.

A while back my teenage daughter was on the home PC having a video chat with a male friend. He spotted a couple of my electric guitars in the background and asked her if it was a Fender? She replied that she didn't know but read Yamaha off the headstock. It was a strat copy beginner guitar that I had grabbed for $40 bucks. The other was a nice 5 string Samick bass that I picked up from the same guy for $75. Anyway, the kid started bashing my guitar and pumping the Fender that he has, yada, yada, yada...She later told me about it and I explained to her that he can spend all the money he wants on a guitar, he'll never get the results out of it that I can on this cheap Yamaha if he never get's himself past the 3 chords he knows now. This is how I feel about everything.

Point is that when I started reading about this hobby of ours, like everything else I've ever emmersed myself in, it quickly became overwhelming. Never mind all the techniques and knowledge of plants that you need to obtain, there's the product market that you have to face and Holy Shit can they get you in this one! I'm the kind of guy who will find something of interest that I want to do and I will throw myself into it. I will scour for information and research the hell out of it and then plan my moves. I'm also a real tight ass for money. Mostly by choice and partly not. I don't believe in buying crap but I don't believe in going out and buying "the best" either until you can justify it more. I've spent about 10 years of my life in the bar industry and another couple more selling cars so I'm no "lay down" for any salesman. I'm pretty good at smelling bullshit even when it's masked in perfume. More like Aux de just had a crap in my Toilet to me. And then there's my theory of how do you know how good you have it if you never had it bad? So, the past year or so has been really fly by the seat of my pants experimental and I started with some real basic stuff and still using most of it but now that I'm satisfied with where I am now I'll invest a little more and up my game a bit more and watch for the differences and improvements. If I see them now, then I can probably say with confidence that yes, that product does seem to be better than the average Joe out there.

Like a lot of people I started under some CFL's in potting soil but quickly found the 600, got a lot of info and lead on where and what to look for and found a shop on ebay that is local to me ordered a 600W magnetic ballast kit with a simple reflector. It came with a basic Artemis HPS Bulb and I ordered a second Super HPS plant bulb with it. I think the kit was around 150.00 and the extra bulb was $25 buck. Yes they're not Hortilux bulbs or the higher end digital ballasts but they're doing the job right now. Even my tent I picked up for a song and again, not the greatest but it's working.

Then there's nutes. I've been using granular stuff I got from common garden centers around here. I found a deal on coir bricks one day for $2 a brick so I bought up 75 of them and up till now I've been using that mixed with peat moss and perlite and some other basic amendments and I've been recycling this mix. Other things like Molasses and Epsom salts and Mychorrizae, therefore Organic.

While I am looking at adding a second tent and light, and they will be upgrades from what I have now like quality tent and light and bigger 6" inline (that was one mistake I made getting a 4"), right now I'm changing my nutes to a 100% organic liquid line that I found that I'll get into in a separate post, as well as the amendments to my coir mix. I'm quite confident that this is going to resolve a lot of issues I've been dealing and once I see the improvements in my grows that I'm expecting, then I'll start lining up my ducks for some new gear.

Sorry for the long winded post. A good bong hit and 30+ WPM typing speed can get you here pretty quick. Blah, blah, blah :spew:

Here's where I got my lights.

That guy sure isn't going to make it very far trying to impress chicks by dogging their old man. It's funny about the guitar thing too... I just posted something in my thread along the same lines. I have what I call a strat and a les paul. Guitar snobs would disagree and say they were knock offs. I say sucks you have a crappy life, lol. Maybe going a bit far, but it works for me.

Also, I love me some long winded posts... so keep them coming. You'll always have a reader here.

I want to get into the Deep Blues that I've grown but I'd like to put in together so I recap the grows and finish off with a bit of a smoke report but before that I might as well get into what's going on now first.

Under the 600 and just finishing up I've two Cheeseberry Haze that are looking like the best finishing plants I've grown so far. The smell is pretty potent too. Can't open my tent for too long before it's through the house. Sweet, skunky, coffee is what it's like. The nuggets are dense and golf ball size some of them. I'm hoping not more than a week. Following that I have my Deep Blue X Jack The Ripper and a White Widow Max that's about 3 to 4 weeks away. Finally I have 2 Lemon Pheno Jack Hammers that are probably 6 weeks or so to go on them still. These are from that seed I produced from the Sannies JH's I purchased. I'm so thrilled to have the Lemon Pheno come out here. I'll get into them later.

Vegging for a few weeks now I have
2 C4 X Caseyband (THC)
2 Black Sour Berry X Caseyband (THC)
1 Calizhar X Caseyband (THC)
1 Deep Blue X Jack The Ripper #1 (BB?)
2 Herijuana X Extrema (Duchie)

Germinating

Just up
2 Calizhar X Caseyband (THC)
2 BSB X Caseyband THC)
1 Sourberry (breeder unknown, gifted through a couple of 600 members)

Waiting on
2 Deep Blue X JTR
2 The Purp X Extrema (Duchie)

So you may notice the question mark on the DBXJTR regarding the breeder and that's because I'm not sure that this cross is part of the lineup that's for sale through BB. I don't think it is but I'm pretty certain it's BB stuff nonetheless.

Here's the Pr0n.

Deep Blue X JTR These shots are all the same plant both taken with flash, just different White Balance settings. First set is with flash but set at the florescent light setting in the WB persets. I realized after and changed it to the Flash WB setting.

Good to see the Art Deco light fixture in use! That was a cool score!
Found out later that it was part of a poultry operation. Holds 3 cfl's but I'm hoping to use it for what I initially intended it for and that's to light up a male or two. But that will probably be in the next run, but who knows?

What I really want to do next run, as long as I tune in this one good enough and I'm happy, is run these Romulan I have all at once. I think I have a couple dozen. Then I'll select me a good male to harvest pollen from, take cuttings of the remaining females and then flower the females to finish, select a choice one or two of those and then grow out and pollinate the entire coinciding clone(s). By then I'll be planning my next step which I have no idea what that's going to be. I was thinking of doing about the same with some Deep Blues as well. I've seen two different phenos, that I could tell, from them so far so I have a good ideal what to look for in them to try and get what I want. But whoa now, I'm getting way ahead of myself. All I really want to do now is fill my coffers with as much primo Dank as I can. That is the goal. That is the mission.

Actually it was more like they picked me. I have no doubt this is primo genetics and I happy to get my hands on them. Hoping to pass it on and back down the line soon.

Great to have both of you by. Thanks. I'll try to keep it interesting. Good day everyone else, hope your having or going to have a great day. Fall is here and it's starting to show.

This one's just had it, a long time ago.
IMG_8787.jpgIMG_8792.jpgIMG_8795.jpg

Soya beans ripening. Just like ours, these plants will pretty much die before the beans are harvested.
IMG_8837.jpgIMG_8839.jpg

Tobacco. Most fields are off or pretty much off by now. This crop is not looking good. I think it may have stayed green too long and the farmer applied a quick ripener. Normally how it works is this. You have three leaves per node. The plant ripens from bottom up. When it does it will be harvested by node. Meaning, the bottom three ripe leaves will be collected only, until the entire crop is done. By then the next node will be ripe and you start all over again. I think there's about 7 nodes. I did this job once when I was 15 and I think it made a man of me.

Also note the ground. This shot is taken about a half hour from the shores of one of the Great Lakes. That is sand, not your typical black soil, yet this is a very lush area in vegetation.
