Brainstorming ideas for a small greenhouse…

What’s up, everyone?

I’m brainstorming ideas for a small greenhouse - say, 8x15 feet or so. I’m not going for mass production here, just some quality organic herbs for me and my family. Either 5-10 small plants or a few big ones, dependi

I want something that is…

1) Relatively easy to set up and break down (i.e. something I can store in the garage when not in use).

2) Aesthetically pleasing (more or less), since it will be part of our view from the house.

3) Able to accommodate lightweight metal fencing (say, chicken wire) to keep dogs, deer, rabbits, etc at bay.

4) Able to be blacked out for light dep without too much trouble if I feel like giving that a try.

Do any of you have a setup like this? I’m good with tools, etc, and I plan to build this myself unless someone points me to a perfect product someone else has already come up with.

Suggestions?

If your handy why not get a hoop bender and source some conduit off Craigslist or Homedepot. Then you could go as big or small as you wanted and always have it if you ever want another or to enlarge an existing one

Thanks, guys. I stumbled across the idea of DIY using EMT conduit, and I’m sold. Just gotta buy a bender for ~$45 and get to it.

Any other ideas?

I’d love to hear any recommendations for “ready made” greenhouses, too, so Ieither consider buying one or copy their ideas. Ha!

I used to use a carport with privacy mesh and 6mil plastic. Total cost was about $100 sourcing from the local flea market and Craigslist.

15 10-foot 3/4 PVCs with about 8 +tees with some plastic. I got plastic I can give if you in Washington. This is 11wide and 11 feet tall 20210906_085528.jpgjust buit's this yesterday, I'm just working on ventilation, like rolling up the sides with bungee cords. this cost 80 dollars for me a homedepot. I did the same one last year except it was 40 inch smaller and it went up against some extreme wind storms I was pretty impressed.
