It still doesn't mean shit in the grand scheme of things. Could have happened anywhere and will certainly happen again soon. china may be the rising super power but the vast majority of their population is still 3rd world with little or no support from the central ruling power. Their only option is to eat bush or starve themselves and their children.

What would you do to save your starving child? Can you imagine living in a world where you can barely move without bumping against someone else?

If the US or Canadian gov't did what China did to clamp down on the virus once word was out there would be violent revolt at least in the US. But both our governments are on the verge of enacting war measures acts which makes all of us slaves and prisoners trusting our leaders to get us thru this then let us free. I'm not comfortable with that.

The only blame is on our own government's response to this. Taiwan, right next door to China, enacted anti-hoarding laws before the majority of their populace or even us knew there was an issue. Their life hasn't missed a beat with life like normal but care about Covid and not an empty shelf in any store. Kids in school, stores and factories hard at work. Everyone wearing masks and doing the physical distancing thing. Their society never used a handshake to greet people. That's a Judeo/Christian custom to show your opponent that your sword arm was empty. Now we need to bump bums to show we ain't packing a piece down our butt-cracks. ;)

Meanwhile our 'advanced' western society beats each other up for a 24 pack of TP. We're all just a bunch of self-serving greedy babies and Trump is the biggest baby of all. lol

Except it did happen in China, just like most pandemics in history started in China. This couldn't have happened elsewhere because elsewhere doesn't have massive wet markets for bushmeat where exotic and often critically endangered species are held captive in close proximity and slaughtered in squalid and disgusting conditions because the rich patrons believe it will give them bigger dicks. That's actually an accurate description for the market, which is the focal point of a global black market supplied by poachers all over the world. That's TCM.

That's actually extremely illegal in most places, not to mention immoral.

Except that is a pretty good example of the kind of shit all over Weibo. Anything critical of the CCP is swiftly censored, shit like this stays up and gets massive exposure.

The world. They flood the world with junk. They steal tech secrets and violate patents and their own MSS uses cyberwarfare to steal intellectual property. They then hand all of this to their companies because they lack innovation and mass produce while underpaying laborers and those companies which spent billions of dollars on R&D can't even compete making shit they invented. Case in point, those high speed trains. They were developed by Japanese companies. The CCP set aside their visceral hatred of all things Japanese just long enough to invite such companies in to build a few, then stole the tech and began competing within China, despite contracts. Oh, they didn't stop there. Fueled by their anti-Japan propaganda, they convinced themselves of their entitlement to go and offer cheaper contracts all over Asia. Now, Chinese high speed rails are breaking down while countries are entrapped by debt diplomacy.

Typical CCP bullshit and just another reason to boycott PRC.

Should the world label it as the American Disaster? It wouldn't be your fault but would devastate the whole planet in a way that would make the Black Plague look like a bad cold.

It doesn't matter where it started. There were cases all over before it was understood that there was a new actor on the stage and we're lucky that China found the source but unhappy that they weren't more forthcoming.

It's not like Trump's attitude toward China didn't have a lot of influence about their reluctance to jump out of the closet right away.

The idiot in the White House is going to kill way more than should die.

It didn't just start there. And it wasn't just chance. It started there because of the wet markets where bushmeat from exotic animals is sold, including critically endangered animals. It spread because the CCP covered it up for weeks. The blame absolutely lays squarely on the CCP.

SARS-CoV-2 is just another mass export from the People's Republic of China.

Right now, no person aside from PRC citizens of Chinese descent may enter any retail establishment or restaurant in Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzen. The foreign spouces of Chinese citizens may not join their families at the table at a restaurant. They may not enter the country from outside as of a few days ago and increasingly, they are losing visas.

Also in PRC, Uighurs are systematically persecuted and dissappeared for their organs to be sold to rich Han Chinese citizens. Tibetans may not practice Buddhism or speak their native language. This is all directly attributable to the policies of the CCP, making the PRC the most racist country in the world. It is currenty the only country with officially racist government policies.

The People's Republic of China is the most racist country in the world.
