Boss LED Grow Lights

Well chaps, Im really thinking of going the led route. I just have no clue what to buy. I will be growing 4 plants in a 50x75x150cm tent.

Has anyone grown out a crop with any of these "budget" leds?

If you have ever wondered if a light is a made in china and distributed to the masses, its on this site. Looks like they have every ebay, alibaba chinese light since the beginning of time. they are even bringing UFOs back into the mix, lol

this should be enough to keep you away from them

Lights working pictures

The pictures are from buyers, here are the suggestions about lights working:
1.Please make the distance at about 1.2m-1.5m when the plants are small, if the light is too intense for the small plants, led light may kill small plants or they can not grow under the light.
2.Please make the distance at about 0.7m-1.2m when the plants are bigger, because bigger plants need more light for photosynthesis.

They're probably about as good as the generic Mars panel.
Suited for small spaces, sort of. Better than CFL at least.
Not great but it will grow weed.

If you have a bigger budget I'd recommend
Tasty Led.

Either the T2-1750 series when it's in stock again, or 2 T1-1750
T2-1400 would be great too since 50x50cm is pretty small.

The leds Tasty uses are much more efficient and will last much much longer than those cheap China panels.

Normally I'd also recommend Gavita HPS but HPS efficiency sucks below 600 watt and is therefore mostly suited for spaces that are 120x90cm or bigger.

Cheers for the feed back lads, Seems theres alot of shite out there. Its very hard to make a choice.

Them tasty leds look good, just slightly out of my league. I may just go with a 250 hps, but after I get the bulb, ballest, cooltube ect it all adds up. I feel heat will be a big issue running a hps in a small tent, I dont want loud fan blowing all night.

If this is your first time DIY'ing LED lights, then yes, this is a great start! It's cheap because you're doing most of the work and it gets cheaper the more you do. I don't know if the light ouput will be more or less than what your plant(s) will be needing.

Look at that Diamond "900" with "6 watt chips" FAKE!! FAKE!! there are NO 6 watt chips! I've had 2 seller kicked off ebay for these, so STAY away from this seller!

No LED has a wattage. All LEDs have ranges.

Looking at BOSS LED website myself. Time to upgrade.

Goal....low wattage high lux.

Mars II 700 or 900 followed by their 192 reflector are on the short list. Then I found the BOSS LED site....

What worries me with them is the use of double chips to make 10w arrays as well as their "6w" leds....

However their diamond, platinum, ghost , and dominator series may have something to offer. Their designs are even touting DIY repairs and upgrades.

I would steer clear. Some of their stuff is on amazon with different names like king. Its just more high failure rate leds, even on the front page showing off a growlight with 2 burnt out modules.
