So i just notice 2 arras of my main stalk have swollen and cracked from the swelling.
Ive never had a pest problem so im confused.
Maybe something else couldve caused this damage idk.
Also i seem to have new growth comming out of weird spots. Check the pic youll see.
Also ive recently added a humidifier that brought my rh from 10-20 up to 40-55
Im wondering if that caused it idk.
Ive looked all over the plant and soil and i cant find any sign of bugs.0329171126.jpg

Sometimes fungus gnats will get in a crack in the stem and die. Looks okay now though. Could be a different larvae. You could slice that spot and repair it as long as you don't girdle the plant. May be best to just let it be..

Would rubbing the spot with mineral oil suffocate what's in there? I've never seen a spot like that.

Tape and a piece of chewed gum covering the spot? I'd figure if something is in there alive. It's breathing oxygen. Cut off the air supply.

I was prettty rough with it when sexing it i would bend and move it around to see if it was showing sex.
I never bent it to the point where it would be crooked after.

My last run i had to bend some tops over because I was running out of room and the knuckled up or swelled up similiar to what the swelling around that brown spot.

I wondered if just moving it around a lot checking for sex could have caused this but idk.

Not by itself but it got an infection I'm willing to bet, possiblly by a gnat but maybe a foliar feed. It looks like it was bent and broke the outer layer. Nothing to worry about....Yet

If you had an insect living in there packing the area with Vaseline will inevitably find its way to the insects sphericles "breathing ports" clogging them causing a horribly wonderful agonizing slow death for the little bastard. However it does look like it was bent or some other sort of mechanical damage occured there. I agree with NaturalFarmer ...

After you harvest, please cut it in half and take a photo so we can see. Unless it hatches and destroys your harvest first:)

I def will be cutting it in half out of curiosity. Its weird. Ive never seen it happen before.
Im still new to this but its my 4th run. Last 3 went fine.

Over feeding (pushing the plant)

often results in grow blisters, cracks in the stem, and base

you are doing well

but have reached the plants growth limitation

neem oil in a 'tree wax' form, like a roll on deodorant

is at many grow/garden stores

as above these cracks are a known viri zone
