Bong cleaning: stopper caps vs plugs

Hey everyone!
I am finally going to pull the trigger on some cleaning accessories!
Which do you guys use? The flexible Silicon caps that stretch over the mouthpiece and everything or the plugs that plug up the openings?
I would love to get glass stoppers, but I'm not too sure about the glass on glass action...
Anybody have any suggestions? I'm all ears! Or... eyes...

No need...run hot water through to warm the glass, empty and replace with 99% iso...shake, rinse into a receptacle to hold the iso, rinse repeat. Cover opening with your opposite hand, and shake.
Add coarse salt if particularly dirty.

That's what I'm currently doing - minus the salt!
It's the "cover openings with hands" that I want to change! I'm kind of sick of dealing with that shit on my palms!

I run hot tap water through my bubbler until glass is almost to hot to touch. Place it and stems in a plastic container and fill to a n inch below the top with acetone. Then soak the container just below buoyancy in hot tap water for 10 minutes or so. Throw on some gloves. To cover openings. Shake vigorously. Empty into acetone bottle. Remove any residue with a q tip or pipe cleaner and cotton ball. Run cold water through until cool to toch. Spotless.

So, you use two containers? One with the glass and the acetone in it, and then a larger one with the hot water in it? Then you "almost" submerge the glass and acetone container in the hot water container for the 10 minutes?
Sorry! Trying to understand it better!

Sea Salt
Running water
Isopropyl alcohol – To get the best result, one whose concentration is 91% or higher.
Pipe cleaners
Plastic containers
Q-Tip
Paper towels
Tried them all, and they all actually work.
I got the standard answer from a“ how to clean a silicone nectar collector ” blog and video.

I guess I should answer my own thread!
I went with the silicon caps and they work pretty damn well!
I do recommend them if you're the type that shakes the shit out of your piece and need the openings completely sealed!
