scooped nikah and grandmas HP from JBC

how new is the Oaxacan 9 x angel wing afghan? Anyone run it or have a trail I can start on researching the angel wing? I understand it has more of a sativa structure but afghan heritage?

I know the Nikah has been around a good while, I’ve had great experiences with the OMG male so I’m stoked to see how this stacks up against/differs from black triangle
Here's a pic of the Angel Wing Afghan. An og member said it looks like Dr. Grinspoon. It's an afghan with very sativa traits apparently.

I went through my logs and looked at my sprout rate for Appy beans starting in 2022 when I figured I needed to get cracking while they were still good. I just stick them in a Root Riot cube point up and water them and keep the cube moist with a dome but don't otherwise mess with them.

pops / attempts - strain

1 / 2 - Bingo Pajama
1 / 3 - Mothers Milk
4 / 5 - SSDD
1 / 3 - Prayer Tower (Sativa)
2 / 2 - Dream Beaver
1 / 1 - ASS
1 / 5 - Strawberry Mountain
2 / 3 - Love Dawg
1 / 1 - Silver Mountain

14 pops out of 25 attempts, a 56% sprout rate

How did you store the seeds?

Had 3/3 air guitar fail if that helps. wasnt sure it was or wasnt user error. I think that has appy in the wookie? so it could be same generation (old)?

Hi All

A little help required if possible.

Here is my SSDD three weeks today in living soil.

This is an F4, seeds sent by a very kind person on another forum. The mother pheno apparently smelt of Imperial Leather soap (so I'm guessing a creamy soapy smell).

I'm growing this specifically for someone with intense back pain due to damaged nerves who's never ingested cannabis before and is very underweight (so prescribed meds are off, a good thing IMO).

At three weeks could anyone shed any light on what this pheno may be? Or is it too early to say?

Had a larger almost identical male that absolutely reeks on the stem rub, cuts taken, will search for more males and make f5s next run. As many as possible to send out as a preservation thing.

I flowered her early as time is really of the essence and I'm worried about this person, so the plant is small in her 13l pot. She gets top dressed and a weekly dose of LAB and microbial tea.

Here she is....she's been defoliated a little.

I am seriously praying she will be good for nerve pain.

The red stems are interesting, other strains in the same soil and regime don't have them so I think it's phenotypical.

This was her in veg if that helps...

I have a bunch more f4 seeds so can run again to search but at f4 I'm guessing there will be some consistency (the male was identical, just bigger).

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

My advice is: the only way to truly know, is to try it.
F4's will still have a good amount of variance...

Interested to see the end results.

Plant looks healthy.

What's your soil recipe?

Thanks and agreed, has some very interesting smells at 3 weeks, complex.

Great to know about f4s having some variance, thanks, appreciated info.

I'm cheating with the soil, it's a premixed living soil from a company that also does dry mix amends for different stages. So I am following a program of theirs, being new into living soil (ran a NL5 using it first and it was very good).

The amends consist of Rock dust, neem, bokashi bran, worm casings, myco, frass, barley etc (not all at once) in mixes for veg and flower.

Due to space I had to run in 13lt bags when it should be minimum 20-40l. So they get LAB from organic whole milk and microbial tea once a week and scaled down amends.

Seems to work.

Hey y’all!

I always am working on expanding my Bodhi collection, but now I think I’m going to focus mostly on getting his Supernatural Selections, and landrace work.

Recently, just this week, I’ve got my hands on Yogi F2’s (Geisel x Afgooey x Appalachia) from a buddy’s giveaway on OG, another Friend of mine is giving me some Elf Snack F2’s (Apollo 13 Gorilla Arm Pheno x SSDD) for free, then I found a pack of Cherry Queen (Fat Cherry x OMG) for sale at a good price, and I even won at auction a pack of Panamanian Space Probe (Panama x Kashmir).

Now I have my eyes on a pack of Supernatural Selections 18, Laughing Lemon (Lemon Thai x OMG), BCO Afghani Reproduction, and Uzbekistani Hashplant. Also, few other landraces Bodhi’s worked with of course.

I know I probably have more than enough seeds already to work with for years, but I’m definitely preserving many Bodhi strains to at least F2’s, and some I will also use as dads or moms in pollen chucking experiments with other strains.

This is why I am steering away from strains made with any popular cuts, even from Bodhi, this will help narrow down things I have looked at, and prioritize some less hybridized or less modern strains. I’m sure they are all great smoke, and wonderful in their own way, but I’d much rather use a less hybridized line for a base to make some crosses with.

I have seen plenty of good crosses of multiple polyhybrids but in those cases, you do not always know exactly what pheno you are getting, as it’s more of a genetic soup than say a simpler mix of landraces like for example, say maybe an Oaxacan x BCO Afghani, or even like Acapulco Gold x Uzbekistani Hashplant.

Sorry for the wordy post, just saying what’s on my mind at the moment. If you’ve stuck with me this long, and read the whole thing, I appreciate your patience!

Peace!

How did you store the seeds?
I just toss them into the glove box of the old Chevy I have out in the barn, some day I'll fix it up! Just kidding, I keep my gear In a mini-Pelican case in the back of the fridge. Most of the Appy crosses I got in 2016, who knows how they were stored in the 3-4 years before I got them. I got most from GLG but one or two I probably got from a dispensary when I was in California.

I should say, from the f4's i've grown, the uniformity is not quite there.

Any company info, like a name, on the soil?
Keeping us in suspense I see.
Thanks, that's really encouraging as I still have about 12 SSDD seeds left at f4, it's an honour to have them.

I'm in a prohibition country so I'm not sure the soil company wants the publicity, that's all. I can always check with them.
