ive heard superb things about this meter. is it all the hype? i want something super flawless. i keep everything clean so i expect it to last a long time. will this be a good investment for someone planning on growing for a long time? i have been using the drops and my plants need help. i heard the $100 ones are off by 2 tenths +/-. that could be a big difference if your looking for ph between 5.8-6.0, and not higher then 6.1. any thoughts from people that have used it? i know this is the newbie forum, but im hoping someone cam give me some hopeful insight.

Your best bet is to buy a cheap meter and calibrate it often, keep the tip wet with calibration solution and put the money you save towards electricity or nutes.

I have a bluelab combo meter and love it. My philosphy on meters is accurate readings are more important than saving 100 bucks. As inaccurate readings will cost you a lot more in the long run.
As for the meter, works like a charm, easy to calibrate, very accurate, easy to use, super dependable and the probe is replaceable so even if you screw up the probe it can be replaced without trashing the whole unit. The EC/TEMP meter part of it seems to be a lot less sensitive and doesn't need to be calibrated as often. The EC/TEMP probe is also not replaceable. I believe they carry either a 3 or 5 year warranty. So bluelab definitely feels they have a good product.
