Blueberry Gum & other Attitude freebies...Low Budget Grow

A few days ago my order came in from Attitude. Attitude is an awesome vendor! My order was placed on Saturday in the UK and was here on the eastern seaboard next Saturday. In placing my order for "The Church", Attitude sent me free seeds. I received one of each of the Kandy Kush, Pineapple Express, Sour Cream, and the October promo...Blueberry Gum. I decided to do a low budget freebie grow with the first three strains mentioned. Low budget and cannabis growing really do not belong in the sentence, but I am gonna have to keep it that way. Pictures will be on the way as soon as I can get the camera and sneak away from my nine month pregnant wife to snap the photo. Hope I can yield some decent results, similar to the time I grew a beautiful Silver Haze female and yielded an ounce with nothing but a pot, soil, and a cheap grow bulb. Here goes nothing. +rep to any who join. Here we go.:leaf::clap:

I went to Home Depot about two weeks ago and bought 25ft. of moderate voltage electrical wire. It cost me about $0.33 a ft. I bought four sockets ($2.15 per) and wired them together with a foot of wire between each socket. I put two high color temperature CFLs and two moderate color temperature CFLs. These four CFLs are 100W equivalent a piece. I am gonna add more whenever the babies are past their delicate stage. I have the lights about 5-6" above the cups/pots.

Does anyone know if the 150W CFLs, that have a standard socket, need anything special to light up? They are perfect bulbs. 6500K, 150W, and $12.00. I bought one and screwed it in...didn't light up! Did I get a dud? or is it something I am missing?

Out of the three plants, the Blueberry Gum was the first to pop the soil. First set of true leaves are already appearing on top of the false leaves. Hopefully, the PE and KK will break through tomorrow. Pictures tomorrow hopefully. Til then, good night:leaf:

Here are the bulbs I want to use to veg after the seedling period, but this is the same bulb that didn't light up in my socket. standard E-26 socket. the bulb screwed right in, but didn't light.
bulb.jpg42W, 6500k, e-26 base, CFL, $10.98 at home depot (says it is equivalent to 125 or 150W on the box...I can't remember.

I never did state what my medium was for growing these seedlings. I used 60% sphagum peat moss (MG) and 40% perlite (MG) on the Blueberry Gum. 50/50 on the Kandy Kush. I used Orchid Potting Soil 40%, 30% peat, and 30% perlite on the pineapple express.

The one on bottom is the Kandy Kush. The Pineapple Express germinated a day later and has not surfaced yet. I am working on my attic/grow room tomorrow. I am buying a clip fan and some white shower curtains to keep light reflected. Eventually, this will be an excellent grow. Right now, this grow is to just get my footing back in the growing world:leaf:

I'll be sittin' in on this as well. Goodluck with it man! Can't wait to see the progress along the way. I also have the same freebies (except I have a Magus Exile in place of the DNA Sourcream) and can't wait to see how the BBG and others turn out.

I'm pulling up a chair! My kandy kush just went into flowering, shes been vegging for about 5 weeks. From what I hear the pineapple and the kush freebies are both amazing in there own ways!

Come by and check out my KK when you get a chance!

Okay, the Pineapple Express popped soil at some point within the last 18 hrs. The others are still looking good. I have got quite a bit of work to do on the grow area. I am due a refund of a few grand from my pell grant and GI Bill, so as soon as that comes...it will be a thing of beauty. I am gonna go low budget, to keep with the theme of the grow. I am going to construct a grow tent out of white shower liners. I have to make a custom version because of limited vertical clearance. Although, when I grow my Church next month or two...I will have a shed with a grow tent and filters for the 5 plants. Here are pics of the progress since yesterday. *I am going to go to weekly pics unless something is out of the norm and I need advice, my wife will end up suspicious if not*

Thanks for stopping by. I am just as curious as everyone else about the BBG. I can't find genetics on Attitude. I am figuring that it is something like Blueberry X Bubblegum...but I thought that was already coined "Bubbleberry" I wasn't even expecting the BBG I was just supposed to get Sour Cream, PE, KK. That's why I will go with 'tude until they show me otherwise.

subbed, and the pots are labeled !!
Thanks everyone. I know a good bit about what I am doing, but could use a little assistance as far as nutes go. When do I start? I did a couple DWC grows, but this is my first soil grow.

Free, if you're using a 'hot' soil, you can use only water for the first couple of weeks and let your soil(amendments) feed your plant.
I never add any nutes before 3-4 weeks, but my soil has it all. however, if you are running a very short veg time, you may want to start out light(1/4-1/2 strength) feeding your seedling. ....my .02

Okay, that's what I thought. I figure I would rather be safe than sorry. Thanks for your help.

dude i just got that same light that u said wouldnt work in your into , howd u get it to work?
I didn't. I bought one at Home Depot and hooked it up at home...didn't work. I returned it. I went back yesterday and asked an employee if I could hook it up in a socket. I did and it still didn't light. After doing some research, I found out why. If you go in Home Depot and go into outdoor lighting, you will see that there are special sockets that support those particular bulbs (even though they screw right in). I have actually thought about buying one of the MH setups and rigging it up to a reflector. It would only cost $50-$75

They are inducing labor on my wife tonight. Can't wait to meet my baby girl! Anyway, Does anybody know about Jack's Classic Fertilizer? I have seen nothing but great results and the price is excellent, no more than $10 per item. Cheap, but effective. Other than that, I have some MG Orchid potting soil. I will write more later, my wife is driving me nuts!
