BlueAdept-Style Rubbermaid w/ Dual 150's

Hello! Although some of you may know me, most of you don't. I go by beginningbotanist420 or BB420 or beginner or just hey you. But here's my idea for my new flowering setup. I already have a veg/clone box to supply clones for this mini-perpetual. I'm going to have 4 flowering plants and be alternating 2 clones every 4-5 weeks [or as needed], giving each clone 4-5 weeks veg. Eventually/potentially, this method can be updated to 2 clones every 3 weeks, for a total of 6 flowering plants. But for now, 4 is enough.

I am going to be using this design, with just a few alterations- http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=100698. He uses 312w of CFL's, I'm using 300w of HPS. He uses (2) 80mm fans and (2) 120mm PC case fans, but I'm going to use (2) 120mm Thermaltake PC case fans and a thermostatically controlled [140cfm, 190cfm, or 240cfm] Panasonic Whisper fan. He built his light box in the grow area, I'm building a separate housing for my reflector. To achieve this, I'm going to have (2) small containers on top instead of just one. Other than that, there are only minor changes.

Do you think dual 150's will be too much heat for this rubbermaid? But which fan should i get to cool the dual HPS's, the 140, the 190, or the 240? Also, Should i turn this into a ScrOG, so each set of 2 clones has a screen and can be moved in schedule without hassle?

So instead of this...

I'm gonna have this...

Heat will be a problem, but hopefully your fans will take care of it. I recently completed a project of my own where I have 2 plants growing in a 30gal trash can. I have a total of 126W of CFL's and even though they put out less heat than HID lights, there's still enough heat to pose a problem. I have one 4" square case fan running on standard AC current(not 12v). That little fan blows a lot more air than I thought it would so it has alleviated my heat issues entirely. Just make sure you get the temps under control before you toss any plants in your box(es).

I believe it's 100CFM. It's definitely not a standard case fan, though. It feels like it's made of cast iron, not like the plastic cheapies I saw. I just spliced the wires with a cheap extension cord I had and plugged it in. The only thing is that it's not exactly whisper quiet, though it's about as loud as the fan in my external hard drive.

I'm currently running 2 150's in a sterilite cab. I have them running with an inline cooltube and the exhaust duct gets very hot at times. I only use it currently as a flower cab as I don't trust leaving the hps' on when I am not here. Smoke detector and fire extinguisher are a must, just in case.

If you are planning on leaving the lights on when you aren't there i'd rethink the plastic idea.

Be safe and good luck.

I guess I take for granted the fact that I'm hardly ever away from my babies. I don't think I could find any peace of mind in leaving my op unattended for more than a few hours. You should definitely proceed with caution.

100 cfm is no where near enough to cool two 150 watt hps. I run one with 250 cfm fan and a computer fan and temps are good. I would get a heavy duty blower or a good fan. 100 cfm + 2 150 hps + rubbermaid = Fire

What would make you think you could grow weed like that and why try? Use a closet. Do not grow in your moms house and do not grow in your dorm room. This is a FIRE HAZARD. I hope RIU would not be liable for anyone telling you you could do this and then you burn down a building and kill some people and you say, "but these dudes on the intardnet told me I could do it..."
