Blue/Purple Colors - Cold Temps

Hello all,

I've heard that the blue and purple strains really start to show their colors with cold temps. I'm curious to know when indoor growers move them to a colder temperature to pull the colors out. Do you do it in the last few weeks of flower? How long to do you leave them in cold temps? Would one night work?

I'm thinking of doing this with Dinafem's Blue Hash.

My ladie seems to show color in the last three weeks, even indoors. My floor gets cold because of the outside temp. and its enough to give just a little purp.
Id just advise you to let her be like she is, shes not blue OK. but really putting her in a colder temperature for one night would just put her in more stress than anything imo. And putting her in a gradual state of cold for a few weeks , if you could say it like that, is just too complicated for me...

I don't change anything with my temps and my Purps still turn purple. Unless your room is above 85 F then you might not get the purple. If your room is under 80 steadily then they will turn in the last 2-3 weeks. That is only if they are purple strains.

Not sure how true this is but I have always heard that this only works because one of the nutrients(magnesium i think it was not to sure tho) is unable to be used by the plant at these temps so it causes coloring guess its like forcing a deficiency if that is true anyways.

I grow only kush and almost every strain I have grown has turned purple. My tent gets cool at night and I find that the cooler the room at night the more purple they get but theres a threshold to how cold you can go I think a plant will stop growing if it gets colder than 55 degrees.

*update* I just checked and ya a plant will stop growing at 50 to 55 degrees so don't get any colder than that.
