Blue Moon Halloween Themed Germination Time!

Lots of 'blue', candy, and spooky themed seeds getting soaked tonight! Soaking the following seeds using paper towel between plates for most... two sets (Platinum Gushers, The One x Blue Moon Rocks) are in ziplocks instead of plates (I ran out lol). Barring another collapsed lung there should be some real heaters coming up soon! Feel free to comment or ask any questions. Thanks for stopping by!

Quick update on the seedlings:
Most have made it to solo cups... few of the choices have real slow stragglers such as the Bubblegum & Oogie Boogie. Only 1 Bubblegum in a solo so far, half the BMR, and 0 Oogie Boogies...

So far, so good. The ones that are 'showing off' at this stage are the Blue Chunk, Brain Candy, and Platinum Gushers. The stragglers / ones that barely germinated are BMR, Bubblegum, Oogie Boogie. Tomorrow will be transplanting 10 of my favorite to 1 gallons pots. Might do a few more than 10, just depending how I feel because overall there are lots of good looking ones and it's hard to pick honestly.

The pic with multiple plants has mainly in front row the Blue Chunk & Platinum Gushers. Middle / back rows are Bluetopia & Brain Candy. The up close pic w/ a spider is of Candy Store Bx1.

Transplanted my 26 of my favorite seedlings tonight. Overall the Blue Chunk F2, Brain Candy, and Dositopia Ix1 are the 'biggest'/fastest growers. The BMR, The One X BMR, and Bubblegum seem slightly finicky & to not take to nutrients too well. They do this weird curl / wrinkle on the leaves. Might transplant a few more tomorrow, because it's been really hard to pick favorites this round.

Color coded the pic to help show what's what.

5 Red: Candy Store Bx1
4 Light Blue: Platinum Gushers
4 Pink: Blue Chunk F2
3 Dark Blue: The One x Blue Moon Rocks
3 Yellow: Brain Candy
3 Dark Purple: Dositopia Ix1
2 Tan/Peach: BOGs Bubblegum
1 Light Purple: Oogie Boogie
1 Dark Brown: Blue Moon Rocks

I ran a pack of BMR and had horrible germ rates, apparently BOG is aware of this. I was only able to get 2 seeds to pop after a stupid amount of effort. 1 was male and I took pollen a few months ago, and finally got a confirmed mother as of a few nights ago, that I now have 6 clones rooting. Hopefully I get lucky. Attached the healthy BMR mom and the cuttings I took, 3 days in. Good luck on your grow!

I did some bmr about 2 years back.
Didn't get anything good, hit the mutant lotto.
Anxious to see if u pull some keepers!
Haven't see a good bubblegum in a bit either. Best of luck!

Yes very sad indeed. I only heard through the grape vine on insta. Will be giving these special love & attention in honor of BOG. RIP :(

Small update: The stragglers have mostly perked up and caught up speed, just had a rough start. They definitely all show some sort of odd growth with a sort of leaf twist / curve to the side. Moved about 11 plants to 3 gallon pots & the rest just hanging about in 1 gallons for now. I do believe I have at least one of each variety transplanted. Will get updated pics in the new year.

Been a few weeks & here's a quick update of my favorites so far. These ones were moved to 3 gallon buckets around Dec 18. Still have a few of the others hanging about in 1 gallons & may move some to 3 gallons depending on how they look & how much space I have. Took pics with a 9 inch plate for reference and to help compare them to each other.

They all look pretty awesome to me, but some rough notes on them below:

The tallest plants and broadest leaves of the bunch belong to primarily Blue Chunk F2 & Brain Candy.
The thinnest / most delicate leaves seem possibly to be Candy Store Bx1 #2.
The runt of the group is a Bluetopia IX #x4. There were other bigger / taller looking Bluetopia IX plants, but I really liked the 'weird' way the leaves connected to the petiole. Can only post 10 pics per post, so I'll post a follow up with some pics showcasing the weirdness of the leaves.

Here are pics of the Bluetopia IX #x4. It is much different looking than all the other Bluetopia IX that popped (and also different compared to all the other varities).

Most notably the way the 'fingers' on the fan leaves connect to the rachis(center point on petiole) look very strange. Like they have wings or flaps or something? Not sure exactly how to describe it... looks sorta like webbing on a 'ducksfoot' type variety, but it isn't actually webbed...

The leaves also have that 'leathery' look to them like dinosaur skin or something. I think this is the result from extra or thicker(?) veins running vertically(up/down) in between the normal veins that run horizontally off of the main central vein.

Moved a bunch of (what I think are) males to flower room today. So far seeming like 50% of them are males. Not a terrible ratio, but definitely not what I was hoping for.

Males (probably):
Blue Chunk F2 #x1 (not pictured)
Blue Chunk F2 #x2
Brain Candy #3
Candy Store Bx1
Oogie Boogie #1

Females (probably): None pictured will snap pics later
Blue Chunk F2 #1
Brain Candy #1
Brain Candy #2
Platinum Gushers (BETTER NOT fucking herm lolol)
The One x BOG's Blue Moon Rocks (very happy with this SHAWTY)

Hmmmm now gotta pick a stud for the ladies... or maybe harvest pollen and do selective different pollen on each female depending on what I want.... any suggestions? What would you guys like to see be crossed??

Moved 3 of the females to flower room:
Blue Chunk F2 #1
Brain Candy #1
Brain Candy #2

Leaving 2 in veg for now:
Platinum Gushers
The One x BOG's Blue Moon Rocks

Notes:
The Brain Candy #2 has some "weirdo" looking leaves which are pretty interesting. Also differences between it and the #1 are how the fingers on the fan leaf connect to the rachis & also the #1 has a deep burgundy wine color where the #2 is greener.

Leaving the two in veg, for various reasons-- I have different pollination plans for the Platinum Gushers. The One x BOG's Blue Moon Rocks is still quite short and squat, so figured it could use additional veg time. I also want to take a clone of it before flipping to flower.

Things have been chugging along. Have moved a few to flower, give one to a buddy (Platinum Gushers), and kept a few vegging.

Main Flower:
Brain Candy #1
Brain Candy #2
Blue Chunk F2 #1
Blue Chunk F2 (Male)

The male has been spewing pollen all over the 3 ladies. The Brain Candy's both are showing some nice purple colors. Also separated and have flowering the other males in different collection rooms (Candy Store, Brain Candy, Oogie Boogie) will store their pollen in vials for possible use later.

It sure the genetics of everything your running but anything that has blueberry in it will have the mutants youv e been seeing in some of your plants. Most will grow out of it which I’m sure you know by know.

Things are getting closer to the end now. Collected some pollen from a few males (Blue Chunk F2, Brain Candy), have one more male gotta collect from (Blue Moon Rocks). Got three ladies in flower now (2x Brain Candy, 1 Blue Chunk F2) & a few ladies saved off on the side for future fun (BMR, The One x BMR, Bubblegum).
