My set up is very similar to yours. To keep my cupboard cool without a fan i make some holes in the roof of my cupboard so as the hot air rises it can escape the grow area leaving it at the right temperature. I make enough holes to make sure enough hot air can get out without loads of light escaping.
Easier said then done :) Light leaks are a pain in the ass.....

These are at day 30 I just changed out my water and switched from 1-1-1 of AN grow-micro-bloom to 1-2-3 and added bud blood. I will let you know for sure if that stuff is worth the $$. My wee little buds are just starting.. but they reek. You know how the HBD smells but the Onyx smells like Cat piss or musky balls or something ..odd smell but also very loud. The average of the HBD are about 5 days or so behind the fastest ..so they are relatively uniform. SOOOO many bud sites..pictures doesnt really do them justice... in the next week or so I am sure to have at least 4 or 5 shoots per HBD and about twice that many on the Onyx. Another thing I started is spraying them with a very light nutrient solution ..2ml per liter is recommended by AN so I have been using 1ml or so ..the leaves can uptake nutes as well as the roots and helps prevent yellowing. I'll keep ya posted I did come up with a solution for my photo period regular plants...a way to flower them in the same area...a blackout curtain from my friends hotel( a newer one that I thoroughly cleaned) it works great with the way the tent is framed and it definitely blacks them out with out smothering them...from my early detection knowledge only 2 of the 8 are males but we will see. I cant wait to see what the HBD' s "h" is like... they are Himalayan Kush..

oh and if you need to put holes in for venting ..and are worried about light leeks just get some ducting and make a bend or 2 ...works in my set up...but these puppies need fresh air...co2 enriched to be specific...I am going to incorporate the use of natural CO2 ( 1-3 tblspn activated yeast, 5-6 cups of sugar and warm water. in a gallon jug ran above your plants with 1/4" tubing{co2 falls it's heavier than air}) Just some ideas

Thanks for the info. Im gonna be rebuilding my grow box after this grow. I would do it now but I have no other spot for these babies so im gonna let them go threw some shitty conditions for the last month. So my next grow will be alot better. I also have another veg room and flower room at a friends I will be starting some Kandy Kush and Afrodite, Gonna be purchasing more seeds within a week so I can grow some outdoors. And no im not gettin much stripping. Just the veins in the leaves are a serious neon green that sticks out like a sore thumb. Gotta admit im somewhat impressed at how quick they flower. But im thinking next grow just do 12/12 from seed and I should get more yeild with less plants. This grow was my first indoors so I didn't expect anything great. Next grow I will try to double if not triple my yield with everything Ive learned from everyone on RIU.

The best thing you can do for excessive heat is to add a mild nutrient solution spray. think of the rain forest...hot as hell but flourishing with green. I am at home a good bit so every hour or 2 i just give them a nice shower....strengthens the leaves ..in turn improves the light uptake and overall health of the plant. I cant tell you how important co2 is to introduce especially these last few weeks....it's just activated yeast, sugar and water...my room has the carbon filter but at times when I am in there I can smell both...it's like a cross of a skunk and fresh baked bread..lol but it works REALLY well ..IMO

Well today I finally fixed my heat issue... I mean it does not even get to 90F anymore. With the box completely closed and covered with lights on max temp is now 87F.... I fixed this by relocating the fan in a more logical place... What I did was cut a hole the same exact size of my fan and now the fan is half in the box and half outside the box. Before it was hanging in the box with a 2''x2'' hole behind it. So this gave me more space in my grow box, and now there is a steady flow of fresh air going threw. The grow box is still inside a closet and covered by clothes and I have dropped the temps roughly 10 degrees with lights on and everything sealed up. 20 (3-2-2011).jpg

right on...mine are showing signs of the different genetics involved...I have one really purple one and one diesel dominant... it is freaking 3 feet tall and just started budding..the rest are exactly the same size and color...they all have the same smell ..but the onyx is HUGE and bushy as hell and the white characteristics... has 10-15 buds as big or bigger than the central top. but one of them also showed the what I am gathering is the diesel traits....way taller and not quite as dense buds yet.. little slower about budding like a typical sativa...here's a couple of pics today day 37 from seed I started on Jan 25th..how long do these typically flower

Thats the great thing about HPS and a good mix of nutes.... Makes plants explode in growth from begining to end. Your plants are looking great btw adam. This grow I went as simple as possible. Next grow I will try some of your and some other peoples ideas. I will use a strain thats more resilent to nutes and newbness. Also nest grow im only doing 12/12 so I can do a small perpetual grow. If your plants are auto they usually show pistals around day 21-30. and shouldnt take more then 80-90 days to be ready for harvest. Depending on how many of the hairs are amber I would go by. I think you want around 75% amber 25% not. or could just go even more. Ive seen other Himalayan Blue Diesels take from seed 80 days. Oynx I dont know too much about I would ask teflondummy hes been growing them for awhile. If not auto sativa strain I think its 8-10 weeks to flower and indica non auto takes 6-9 weeks. But all depends on other variables. Me personal thinks something like my grow it should be done around day 85 just cause they had a tough begining life.

here's a couple of close ups of the blue dominant one..day 38...the onyx(far left) has so many buds its hard to count but these hbd smell soooooo stanky. I dont know whats up but i have 5 that for the most part exactly the same...but 2 jumped up 32" on the blueish and over 3 feet on the for the lack of a better characteristic the diesel dominate one ....looks like 3 totally different plants but they all have very similar smells...i love growing these hybrids man yo0u never know what u are gonna get

The change of the trichromes is what you look for...when they go from cloudy to amber or somewhat of both. I have heard that if you want a more energetic, heady kind of buzz you harvest when the trics are cloudy. For a more narcotic, couch lock type thing you want more amber. If the trics are still clear it's too early.50/50 is what most go for....I have also in the past taken the ripened ones as they ripen...this allows for the bottom buds to swell another week or so instead of chopping the whole thing down

I read on here the best time to harvest was when 10-15% of the trichs are amber. It was brick top who posted it so it must be true :)

Wow that heat and lack of nutes are showing. My shortest is now 28" and has 3 or 4 tops...it is literally starving for light. I have one that is shadowing it that's 44" now....it is a week or 2 behind my fastest ones but covered in little flowers so I am hoping the sativa gene makes it take longer to harvest and pulls more...we'll see. I read ur thoughts of getting a 400watt HPS...trust me on this get the 4x4 grow tent from amazon...it's like $85.00 and spend the $ for a fan that will remove the air from ur tent at least 1 time per minute CFM(cubic feet/ minute)
HxWxD= CFM's needed. You can make a carbon filter for about $30..from carbon air purifier filters and like window screen wire...and a couple of flanges... You will love the difference and I am soo broke because I did this but I swear it is proving to be worth every cent.

They are looking nice. Once you get to around Day 60 the BHD's will start to really show its colors. Mine are now more colorful then ever and it still has 3-4 weeks left. They are also fattening up real nice now. I might actually exceed my expectations of 4-7g per plant. My next grow I will use this stealth box for 1 plant. I now have another place where I have a flower room with hps lighting and another veg room with one 4'' T5 Dual bulb fluorescent and 4 23w cfls. Gonna add more lights to veg room soon. My flower room has a 125w hps in there right now being used on some other Big Cheese strain my friend is growing. Once his is done in about a month I will upgrade the bulb to a 400w and by then my Kandy Kush and Afrodite will be around 5 weeks of veg and they will be placed under the 400w hps. Also as a said before I purchased some Super Lemon Haze during the Tude birthday promo so I will be getting alot more seeds. Also I will be growing acouple plants outside so in total I will have around 10 plants growing in different locations.
