Blue Dream Bagseed

So I recently moved to marijuana legal state and purchased a grow tent. I was ready to start my first grow and start figuring out how it all worked but when I went to go purchase some clones I wasn't allowed because I did not have a local state ID. I looked into seeds for sale in my area but they were like $45 each so I just gave up on it for a while said fuck growing, went to the shop and got 28G of blue dream that was on sale for $120 instead of spending money on growing. As I pulled my first bit out of my grinder I found a seed, and I have never ever seen a seed in this legal marijuana before so I figured it was a sign, i ground the entire oz and pulled out 8 seeds. I've only bought maybe 50 grams of legal bud but i only found one tiny green mutant seed. The seeds I got in this blue dream were perfect and dark colored, very healthy looking. I planted 8 in Grodan, all 8 germinated, 2 came out funky so I had the perfect amount for my 6 pot system. Still doubtful these seeds will produce anything worthwhile, I've been keeping it going just for the light to keep the house a bit warmer and curious to see what these mutant seeds will become (are they hermis, feminized, pollinated, mutants) but I think it may have some potential to produce something if I start figuring out what I'm doing and stop winging it. I'm not sure I want to grow some sensi bud or if i want to produce some decent seeds that i can keep growing with. So heres what I got

Total was just under $400.
I'm running the lights on 24/0 75% (450W), I have the fan set to run 15m every hour. I'd guess the average temp is about 85. The water level is at the bottom of the grodan, in "rhizocore" lids, its about 3.5 gallons. I put 2 scoops of maxibloom in each pot and 2 drops of Ph Down. I use a cup of hot tap water to mix the the powder, then add cold tap water to a gallon jug. I have no idea what the Ph is or was, I just figured that I would only need the Ph down and wait for the plants to tell me what it needs. Planning to keep the same nute solution until I'm ready to switch into 12/12, change to HPS, up to 600W. I think the seeds cracked open on December 12th. I took the two mutants and put them in some old peat seedling soil. I keep a jug of fermenting wine in the tent to provide CO2. I suspended the air pump to reduce noise, circulate hot air, and make it organized. I don't like how the fan is suspended or placed, will buy some ducting, air filters and reverse it later. The grow is in my basement and the room temperature is 54-64F. Thanks for any suggestions.

This is my first time growing hydro, these roots are blowing my mind.

The bottom left is the largest, the bottom middle is the smallest. I hope thats a sign I will see some plants that more blueberry and some that are more haze.

Day 19 I think. my biggest plants had a small brown slimy/foamy spot on it. I think it might have been a stain from the hydroton or nutes. The buckets were filled with dust and debris and its been going past two weeks even though the plants seemed to be doing well. I totally cleaned that plant, I washed the bucket and wiped it all down with vodka, cut out the brown part, flushed the net pot with water then I added in 1 table spoon of maxibloom and 3 drops of Ph down, the same formula i had before. The plant shit the bed and the bottom leaves died. The roots are now thin, bound together and I think they are dead. I think my plant just endured possible root rot infection, overwatering through flushing, nutrient burn, huge Ph fluctuation and may have got some light burn from water on the leaves. The top of it still seems healthy except that its curly/cupping? (im not sure how to describe it) so im optimistic it will survive but the roots have me worried. The cupping symptom was on the other plant before so im not sure what all is going on. The next day after the change, the roots were fine and only the leaves had drooped and yellow so i did the same process with the other plant that was similar and its roots also look bad now. Today I changed the res for two more plants but this time I only used 1/3 formula. Leave a comment below if you think they will live or die.

This plant has always looked shitty like this with cupping. It was yellowing before, now its greener but the roots also seemed to have died.

This is my new largest one, which was only a hair smaller than the now dying one. This is what its roots should look like.

Plants are still growing. Switched to 600W and HPS, 12/12 on day ~26, its day ~29 now. The roots recovered but some of the first leafs yellowed and died. Im curious if the root shock rot just slowed growth and the yellowing is due to low nitrogen, i read blue dream is a nitrogen heavy strain. The big one that first started to shit the bed seems to have recovered and surpassed the 2nd biggest one again, the fucked up one still looks fucked up. I'm starting to wonder if the healthy looking ones are just haze dom males and the tiny ugly ones are blueberry dom females. i have some tomatos, peppers in grodan and the 2 fucked up seedling in soil. One of the soil ones appears to have come out pretty well and the other has 2 stems? The temperature has been pretty cold around 55 so the stems purpled and they are droopy at times, and im sure the strong lights not helping much but its growing a lot faster now. I think im just going to pull a half gallon out of a different bucket each day to feed my vege's and soil, replace with full strength solution and keep the nute solution stable instead of changing it all at once.


Plants yesterday looking droopy after i topped up the water. Leaves look REALLY yellow under MH, hardly noticable under HPS and not that bad looking under camera flash.

So that plants roots have exploded and the branches have been developing a lot too. In 7 days it went from poor root system to a big ball. I put the coffee can with my soil plants in it on top of my buckets to give it better light and its showed pistils but the other plants havent yet? been in 12/12 for about a week, a couple of them started to develop the preflowers but they are tiny and theres only maybe 3 of those preflowers. toilet paper for size comparison. The fan i have is too strong and i cant find a timer to fit it. so i moved it more horizontally and against the light but it still hits my biggest plant in the corned, you can see the leafs are turning, im not sure if thats from the air flow spinning in a circle and training it, or if its trying to reduce its transpiration. Before its light on/fan on period i unplugged the fan and turned the light down to 50% 300W, but the last photo is at the end of cycle and its still like that. lots of condensation on the walls and sweat in the "canopy" area. did 600W and fan on for the last hour. This should be day 33.

its day 38? Theyve been in 12/12 for a solid 10 days and almost nothing has happened except for lanky vegging, except for the one tall plant in the soil has like 3 sets of hairs. I'm pretty worried that my cabinet is too short, i think its 60 inches and i think they just sit too high in the buckets. Changed the nutes, arranged the plans by size so they get more even light, if the cab is too short, i might move the light to the short corner and turn it to 45 degrees. My biggest plant's top is half way up the cab so 60-6 for light=54/2=27 inches-12 for safe distance, my plant only has 15 inches of grow space left and it hasn't even shown preflowers yet. Do you think they are autoflowers? Did i interrupt them too much during the dark period? One plant had something that looked like a preflower, then it sprouted into leaves, wtf is that???
I reached out to the recreational store i got my bud from and asked them if they have any knowledge of its genetics. Been smoking on this blue dream for a while and im not impressed with it but its not bad. Just got some Golden Goat and im in love. Its too bad you only get seeds from hermy mutant schwag. Heres of photo of the mother buds. lots of peach colored hairs. Taste seemed artificial too.

I've been trying to post for a while but had some issues with the site. Im on day 75 now. All plants still showing female and haven't seen any pollen sacks yet. My largest plant is now like 7 feet, has tons of trich covered buds but i dont know when it will stop growing. i dont have much room left, my light is mounted to the ceiling LOL. The others have hairs but not like buds, they seem like they are still vegging. The ones i put in soil are flowering really nicely too.

Some more from a week ago

The day before i found these bagseeds, i ordered some seeds online from somewhere local, not sure that was legal or safe at all but i was drunk. Anyway the seeds came and i decided to play around with them. The were only described as " These are seeds that came off of our hash screen." I got a "king 600W" filled some 20OZ solo cups with Coco and im just going to put them in a plastic rubbermaid bin, poke some holes in the cups and then flood it by hand, veg for about 12 days then flower, id be happy to get 3grams for each one. Then im going to move the led onto my blue dream grow and space them out a bit so the lower buds get more light.

I was just reading about Gas Lantern Techinique, 12 hours lights on, 5.5 lights off, 1-hour lights on, 5.5 lights off. This is pretty much what ive been doing i guess, because in the middle of the dark period i come home from work and water them with the light on. I didn't think it would have much affect but maybe it does. Maybe I will shift some stuff around and keep them in the dark more and see how they do.

Still going.... not sure whats up with my plants but they keep on going. Should be about week 11 of 12/12 and 5 of my plants look like they have a LONG way to go. Im going to have to assume that low temperatures and light leaks have caused a lot of issues, but the way some of these are looking, i think it may be bad genetics. Ones flowered amazingly and the others are just forming budlets. The 2 plants i put in a coffee can look amazing, being my first grow, it looks like everything ive seen on the internet. The one hydro plant that is flowering looks like shit, but it STANKS and its covered in oil.

Its also been like 50 days since i changed my buckets. I just top them up with Maxibloom and a tiny bit of epsom salt. About a gallon for each plant every week. At this point im hoping some kind of miracle they other 5 plants will explode with growth and finish up in 2 weeks. If not, im sort of SOL because theyre too big to change the nutes and too big to keep growing. I guess this has been a good lesson that if you want to grow a sativa, do it outside or something.

You should have topped the plants. Also count the weeks of flower since the plants started to throw out pistols (white hairs) and not since you switched to 12/12

Yeah I should have. The plants got pistils about 2 weeks after the light switch but then they kept growing, i had 7 foot tall plants with only like 8 pairs of pistils at the node sites. Do you think the buds will fill in the branches?

Heres the slow blooming one, see its budlets are only about the size of a dime with 4 or 5 hairs, compared to the biggest one having buds the size of a half dollar coin, with about 15 pistils. It also doesnt have any trichomes at all. The other 4 are about in the middle, growing budlets but they dont have trichomes yet. Anyway you calculate it, its still flowering way too slowly, maybe i set the timer wrong or something, maybe my roommate was peaking at them during their off cycle. The vast differences in how each of them flowered makes me think the genetics are funky though. I also think there might be a problem with my bulbs. They seemed to really take off when i changed out the HPS for my MH, the HPS claims it has a lot more lumens, but the HPS lights up way better. I added in the LED light about the same time though so its hard to tell. I've also been thinking about since it being from legal bud, there may have been a given legal amount of plants with a grow license and they decided to grow it very large and that got bred into its genetics. The plants that were grown in the coffee can are much farther along though, makes me think that the root system played a big part determining how it would grow, ive heard something about that with autoflowers? could these plants have an autoflower gene and they are so stretchy because of that???

Day 110, Week 12 flowering. The other plants have kicked into flowering pretty well except 1. Starting to see some bigger differences in them.

This one looks a lot more dense than the others, what i imagined as a textbook marijuana plant.

Im not sure if this one is just purple or its the closest to the LED.

Day 125, i checked out the flowering dates, so until it shows pistils and stuff, its not considered flowering. Ok, didnt know that.Then I should only have a week left at most. A few lower buds started to turn orange but the tops are still going strong. I've been flushing them with water, but im planning to make hash anyway so i might switch back to nutrients if it seems like they might go longer. Theyve added a lot of weight, trichs and buds swelling. smells are wild, mango, pine, lemon and cat piss. Confirmed with a friend that this LED also made his plants purple.
