hi
was wondering how far should i keep my light from the top of my plants in the blooming stage.
i am using a 400w son t
at the moment ive got it about 4in away from the top, and on 1 of them the crown leaves are starting to curl and what looks like starting to die.
is the light to close ??? :joint: :peace:

any help would be great and appreciated thanx in advance

yes... its too close.

for HID system, it needs to be way farther up so u dont burn ur plants... something around like a foot or so it belive

well we was keeping it to 10 ins off the tops but they looked like they was reaching for the light,
they where 14 ins high by 6 ins wide thats why we put the light closer or does that sound wright for the height of the plant( shall i go back to 10 ins ?)

heres a pic of them before we put them to bloom

any comments ?

I think 10 inches is still to close. The way I test if its too close is to put my hand underneath the light, if it feels too hot to keep my hand there for a minute its too hot for the plant. Once you get that distance attach a marker by string that hangs down from the reflector at the same distance you just worked out by burning your hand that way your plant shouldnt get burnt.

we are now into 2nd week of flowering
so far things are going real well
but.....
i was just reading a post on here, and a fellow grower was into his 4th week of flowering and has pruned, or as he put it butcherd them to permote undergrowth,
should you do this because i thought that you shouldnt because it will put the lady into shock and will slow things down.
am i wrong or is he?
and when should i do it if you should do it lol
hope you understand lol

Pruning should be done pre-flowering, in veg stage especially topping it (that promotes undergrowth the most.). During flowering is very bad idea, espcially at the wrong times. if you must prune during flowering only prune a few leaves - and the ones that shade the flower sites would be the prime targets.

in my opinion. my ladies look good, no? i did no pruning really except a few leaves in veg and 1 clone off each, the other day i exposed like 10 more bud sites from clipping off a few leaves.

check them out

hi all
hope you all had a good xmas

heres my question....
when we was 10 days into flowering our ladies started to smell ( which is good), about 4 days later they stop smelling,
now we are 26 days in still no smell
is this normal or has something gone wrong ?

thanxs in advance from a panicing noob :?

also on 4 of the leaves there are some small brownish spots starting to appear, what is it lacking in ?
