Bloom booster

Hi. So im using CX horticulture nutrients. The instructions on the mighty bloom booster says. Use 1ml per litre through week 1 through 5. Then week 6 stop all base nutrients and add 5-7mls per litre for 1 week, then go back to normal feed regime. My questions are,why cut out base nutrients? what is the science in this? What is happening in the plant when you do this? I've emailed them with no reply. Do other feeding programs have the same kind of approach?

basicly, a boost is a way of making the nutrients more available to the plant, seaweed, humic and fluvic acid do the same in organics
so it may be some sort of way of stopping too much nutrient uptake maybe, im just shooting in the dark here
ive never herd of that with other pk boosters /bloom boosters though, but thats the only reason i can think of

Sounds like a big ( more than likely unnecessary ) hyper PK only boost between regular feeding. Seems to do it at mid to late stage .

You would think , if your feed during bloom is already complete ( why screw it up with a nute dump ) .

This is why buying 20 bottles of this and that ( stupid market hype label names “ bud blaster “ bud blood “ bud candy “ “ super duper bloom blaster “ or whatever ) to grow a plant is ridiculous. Literally , you can run kelp / fulvic / sulpher and other simple organics that have micronutrients - cytokines and more than any bottle.

As i do with all nutrients i use , I'd trial it out on plants with and without base at week 6 and see how they finish up..but being only 1 week I'm sure the plant has plenty of stored nutes, can't be a bad thing to reduce and bring it back up again, interesting non the less.

I would not starve my plant right as it's entering it's bulking window. I know of zero science behind that. Then again I've mostly used GH's Flora Trio since 1996 (DynaGro Foliage Pro in veg thanks @ISK ) so possibly they changed science :) it happens.

Yes I'm kind of thinking about trialling it. If I do I don't know whether to go for full dosage of the booster or not. I'm hoping to come across someone who has actual first hand knowledge of these nutrients. But really grateful of any experienced growers thoughts. I've got a week to decide

Yup. All of the above. I use MOAB during the last few weeks of flower at a very low dose and as a substitution for my regular bloom formula nutes, which are already lower than recomended

I’d say they want base nutes cut out to lower the nitrogen. Plants don’t really do “boost” or instantaneous anything well. Gradual increases and decreases work better in my opinion, along with a steady, stable amount of the things they need. Cutting back N in flower and bumping up K is better than instantly deleting N and adding 10x the P&K. Keeping P steady and plentiful the whole grow is what i try to do. For example 20-15-15 veg ,10-15-20 flower(or similar ) Never any need for 0-40-50 (or similar )

Thanks guys. I'm going to keep base nutrients and add booster at a 1/3 of the recommended dosage. See how it goes. I really don't understand why this company does not reply to queries. I've emailed them a few times. Tossers
