Bloody Kangaroos!! Ideas??

so it wont eat the plants and then if any other fuckers come round they may have the sense to fuck off.if not kill it.they are not cute animals they are a pest animal they can rip your intestines out infront of you if they get a hold of you and kick you.if you dont want to kill it that electric bear fence looks like a good idea but if someone found it they will take it

go outside and fire off a shot a couple times a day .well it works for deer round my house at least

if you look in some of my grows you will see a two litre bottle in the middle .
i just piss in that and take it to the spot and stand it up and crack the lid a little.
i have roo tracks all round some of my plots but they stay away from them.
i have fences but a roo could easily jump them if it wanted to.
in full flight a kangaroo can easily clear a 4 to 5 foot fence and if they cant clear they just run ( hop) straight through them

4 some reason i've always liked kangaroos, i mean who seriously doden't want to just once clime into a kangaroo's puch? (i know there's all that nasty stuff in there but still)
i say do the piss thing.
it really does, work, a gunshot would work every now and again but they might get used to it and shooting kangaroos, is first off wrong and having to drag and deal with a kangaroos body seems to be a hassle aqnd probably illeagal

but im thinking the piss is a good idea, and maybe some wire fencing off little patches is the best way to go

Sounds like a 6' tall electric bear fence is what you need...
If a full grown Grizzly bear, at charge, can't get through...
I really doubt a roo can push through...
The electrical charge is harmless, but enough to divert the attention of the would be invader...

Fellow aussie here. I have 5 acres in Nth NSW and also have problems with kangaroos.
I start them off in a little 1m greenhouse I bought from bunnings for $25.
Then I move them to a cage I built which is about 1.5m x 2m x 1.5m. Wooden frame from scrap and old chicken wire.
Then when they outgrow that cage I force flower by moving them into the shed for 12/12.
The ladies then get placed in a fenced area attached to the back of my house protected by a doberman and fox terrier.
If I didn't have dogs I would probably just make a bigger cage.
My neighbour grows his plants in an old chicken run. It keeps the rabbits and roos out.
I'm actually more worried about the stray cows. Roos seem to prefer the grass. When its really dry and the grass is all dead, thats when they go for my plants.

and by crickey if 6000 volts stops a bear they are sooks
.jeezus i could take that and keep going 13000 volts hurt a bit but damn is it good for arthritis... the elec fence can be a good deterrent but not a guaranteed one.
a bit of wet weather or a stick or a bush blows on it and it becomes a 3000 volt tickle.
we run 13000 volts and in the rain it becomes almost useless ,if a branch falls across it same thing or even some tumble weed..
the piss bottle works and only has to be replaced once or twice and costs nothing,but that is only my observation

I wasn't referring to anything I saw on TV. In fact I was referring to a few articles put out by environmental groups in Australia... Obviously though you will respond with the common childish "stfu" nonsense, you work at a zoo in Australia... You're probably against any sort of population control when it comes to any animal...
By the way, you assuming I know nothing about Australia is as ignorant as if I were to assume you know nothing about America... For all you know, I may have spent my entire life in Australia up until a year ago. You should learn to go off what you know to be true, and not what you assume to be true.
Also, for the record- I don't think I have heard the word "Australia" on American television in about 8 or 9 years, aside from when MTVs Real World was filmed there, so I don't know how you could associate statements made by environmental groups with American television... Perhaps it's because it's something you don't agree with or want to believe in.

growtech you are absolutely correct we do cull them if they become over populated,i dont know if we have any culls going on at the moment but we should there are a few spots where the roos out number the sheep in the paddock.
oh yes we do...come out of the city and see what really happens in the outback...

theres heaps of roo shooters around here, they go out every night and shoot 50-100 and the roos are still everywhere. they dont go out and kill everything, they get allocated tags and thats how many they can shoot and theyre paid by weight so they go for the big/older ones leaving the next gen to carry on.
theres always a few roos hanging around the cemetery and the school here feeding on the grass.
we used to get em coming into our yard and eating the lawn till we got the fences up.
its the rabbits and mice that keep eating my plants.
