I had a huge one follow my lure, tried to climb in the canoe. I bonked it lightly on the shell with the paddle, it flipped out and really tried to get in the canoe. So I bonked it agin and took off, it chased me for 1/4 mile...like a freakin horror movie.

We caught one in a hoop net we were using for shad that weighed 54 pounds. It snapped a broom stick in half like it was nothing. We turned him loose once we weighed him and took a Polaroid. Yeah, I'm that old what of it

Another time, at another golf course I saw two giant snappers mating in the water while a second male tried to get i to the action. The 2 males went at it for a while then the female bobbed up missing her head. Talk about a horror movie
