A little lady just asked me how I know what's good and evil if I don't believe in god. It took all my willpower not to roll my eyes. Are there people who think I eat puppies, spit on the less fortunate, and throw grandmas into the ocean because god doesn't tell me not to? x.x

As a fellow card carrying member of the baby-eating atheist community yes, that is exactly what they think of us.
Things I have been told,
"You cannot be moral without the fear of god."
"You cannot raise moral children without religion."
"You cannot show empathy without god."
"You cannot decide right from wrong without god."
Yes these are things that fundamentalist theists believe about those of us who didn't come into this world installed with subservient serf to spirit space daddy as our base programming.
I reply with my shamelessly stolen canned response from Penn Jillette, "... without God, what's to stop me from raping all I want? And my answer is: I do rape all I want. And the amount I want is zero. And I do murder all I want, and the amount I want is zero. The fact that these people think that if they didn't have this imaginary being watching over them that they would go on killing, raping rampages is the most self-damning thing I can imagine."

Not sure whom told you these things but they were completely off base and incorrect. Believe in God if you feel lead, but guilting someone into it is absolutely wrong and improper. We all have free will - believe what you feel is morally right and correct for your soul.
It truly scares me when i realize that there are communities of people who condemn like... my whole ass shit because of my lack of religion. And I am the kid who happily goes to other religion's services on a sunday to observe, learn, and respect. Just because i like seeing happy people.
What I have found is that no matter the race, sex, origin, language, etc., people are people. What I mean by that is that in any group of people, there are fanatics as there are blind participants. I grew up in a very religious home and visited MANY churches. Everyone knows, to victimize others is evil, yet some of the most religious people still do evil. I can not excuse them as a product of their environment, as it is their choice. Same can be said of any "group" of people because people are people. Sorry I must be high.

I grew up Catholic, made it all the way until I hit junior in highschool and I finally told my mom enough of this god damn church and CCD bullshit! Enough! God Damnit.
Every summer I would go down south to live with my Father. He’s a reborn Christian. Every Sunday church and youth group. I also spent my whole sophomore year there. Holy shit, if you think Catholic Church is boring AF, which yes it is, you really gotta experience the other side of it and see the nut jobs that show up at that type of chuch. Speaking in tounges, dancing. Saving motherfuckers in a indoor pool. Couldn’t save my ass LMAO!
