So I heard about doing a 2-3 day blackout period on plants before you switch to Flower from VEG. Anyone know about it??
Guy that told me said it makes the plant start budding quicker...but Ive never heard of this. Guy that told me is kinda unreliable...Still I had to checkNot necessary.
I guess you could do a side-by-side comparison and see. I think it depends more on the strain. I had Chemdog that didn't show flowers until the 3rd week, and Blue Dream showed in 2 days.Guy that told me said it makes the plant start budding quicker...but Ive never heard of this. I'm too new of a grower to be running variables. I'm just gonna focus on the OG methods. ThanksI guess you could do a side-by-side comparison and see.
Yea I too heard interupted light cycles during 12/12 period can cause hermie plants. But I kinda had forgotten about this.sounds iffy, this would definitely cause stress which would possibly lead to stunting, could cause it to stress hermie(depending on stability of the strain too), dont think they would produce flowers quicker if they arent photosynthesizing for those few days. however it may be a response to thinking it doesnt have a lot of time to flower, might sacrifice quality and yield though since their goal is to reproduce as quickly as possible.
yup, theyd be switching between light cycle though so idk, it may help speed up flower, i understand the reasoning behind this method but it comes down to results in the end so it may be worth a try if you have extra plants to experiment on, id just keep an eye on those buds for pollen sacks.Yea I too heard interupted light cycles during 12/12 period can cause hermie plants. idk was this guy an asshole? lolDo you guys think the SOB was trying to hermie my plants...like sabotage??!! Or maybe I'm just paranoid
He's the only connect for buds I have right now and I told him I was launching my own grow and was putting all my money into my new tent(and wouldn't have any cash for his over dried weed that he grows himself). Then he told me that....I am a good customer so I might have pissed him off.. Too weird. There's no way in hell I'm gonna try it now after everyone's input, no way!idk was this guy an asshole? lol
Not uninterrupted darkness. The problem with comes from INTERRUPTED darkness. Amongst many other things that can cause a plant to hermie.Do you guys think the SOB was trying to hermie my plants...like sabotage??!! Or maybe I'm just paranoid
shit that may have been a bad move to tell him about it if he gets butthurt like that, i dont think id take his advice either. id say just stick to the conventional methods, it seems you have a lot of money invested in this so you probably want to make all that back, taking shortcuts usually isnt the best way to go about things like this either. this may be something to try if youre really feelin curious and you have extra plants to spare, but if this is your first grows theres probably gonna be a lot of variables youre gonna have to deal with and get used to in the first place, probably better not to complicate things. He's the only connect for buds I have right now and I told him I was launching my own grow and was putting all my money into my new tent(and wouldn't have any cash for his over dried weed that he grows himself). Yea I totally agree. It's not my first grow ever, but I've never had a successful one. So all that extra equipment hopefully is the missing link between lots of error and a nice harvest. I'd still rather have my money in a solid setup rather than just a quarter pound to sell..shit that may have been a bad move to tell him about it if he gets butthurt like that, i dont think id take his advice either. id say just stick to the conventional methods, it seems you have a lot of money invested in this so you probably want to make all that back, taking shortcuts usually isnt the best way to go about things like this either. this may be something to try if youre really feelin curious and you have extra plants to spare, but if this is your first grows theres probably gonna be a lot of variables youre gonna have to deal with and get used to in the first place, probably better not to complicate things.
a good setup is definitely a must, just remember theres plenty of ways to overdo it, and go overboard, im talkin nutes, genetics, hydro systems, lighting, just about anything involved with growing can be expensive if you buy from people who know youre using it for growin weed.Yea I totally agree.
