Just some idiot
OK I got a new problem, black/brown pistils. I have this occur to random plants all from the same mom. When my plants first show pistils instead of a nice healthy white they are brown/black and the plant stunts itself for a bit. I have used all kinds of lights, 400, 600, 1000. A ton of different nutes, strong and weak and everywhere in between. I am doing hydro (DWC, ebb n flow, aero rails, coco, etc.). I do have the occasional spider mite problem, not bad and none at all this time. But for the past year and a half a good percentage of my plants are exhibiting this quality......it crosses strains, happens in systems where there is only one plant (i.e. not sharing water with others, it has happened with almost every nute line and strength I try.
I finally thought I had it beat, but it's back again. I have searched for over a year for a problem with no answers, on a ton of forums too.
I will take some pics tomorrow, lights out right now.
But has anyone else had or seen this problem...when the plants start to flower the pistils at the bud sites turn black/brown, oh and they were never white and healthy to begin with. It affects some plants but not all, I am talking about clones from the same mom. It also jumps strains too, basically there is no method or logical pattern I can discern. Oh and here it gets even weirder, some times it affects random parts of an individual plant, one site is sick but the rest of the plant is fine.
Black pistils? Help me finally get rid of this f'ing problem please.
