apologies if i am cheeky by posting in advanced. i am about to start autos for the first time and i had a thought that i would like some pro opinions on:
as autos dont give decent time to recover from topping and training, and considering the way scrog works, i thought about a possibility to increase yield (im sure others thought/tried this). instead of removing light from the growing tips by tucking or removing them to encourage other bud sites to catch up, how about shading the tips with a little black/foil/paper etc bag. tin foil hats if you will indulge me. my amateur theory is that now the growing tips are starved of light, the rest will shoot wildly in competition for the top spot, but the original tip will still grow into a nice cola, as its the fan leaves that photosynthesise and not the buds or new shoots.
any thoughts, or has anyone tried this and had success or failure that i can learn from? am i missing some major biological point that renders my idea useless?
