BioBizz All-Mix - Water PH?

Hey guys,

I dont seem to find a definitive answer anywhere to the following question:

I'll be using BioBizz's All-Mix Organic soil (PH 6.5) with BioBizz's nutes: Grow, Bloom and TopMax. My tap water PH is in the range of 7.0-8.0. Do you think I should use PH Down to bring it to the range of 6.0-6.5, or the organic soil with bio nutes will do the job an buffer it down for me?

Thank you in advance,
Djotto.

Definitive answer is no, it is pointless in soil thats been limed and ph'ing organic nutes is not recomended.

The soil is set to 6.5, only when the lime in it is used up will ph change.

Thanks a lot mate! I was a little concerned that PH of my tap water might be a bit too high.

Ok, here's what I found on their website:
How do you balance the PH/EC of Biobizz® soil/fertilizer?
With Biobizz® soil and liquid products, the EC and pH value do not need to be adjusted or balanced, as should when using a mineral medium. Biobizz® organic mediums and nutrients are not made of mineral salts but organic bound elements, which are not measurable. The medium has a natural pH form; this will keep the soil in balance by itself.

How does the pH value of my soil influence the growth of plants?
The correct pH-value is very important for the optimal growth of the plant. The pH-value is the measure for the acid concentration or acid degree. The level of the acid degree defines the bacterial life and the metabolism of the plant. The most ideal pH-value for the soil where your plants are, is between 6.3 and 6.5. Biobizz® earth already possesses this pH value. That means that under normal circumstances, you do not have to adjust the pH value of your water. It is not the level of pH in the water, but the pH of the soil that determines your success. Just let the Biobizz® products do their job for you!

A too low pH-value may lead to poisoning of the plant. A too high pH-value leads to a decreased growth and flowering of the plant. A too high or too low pH-value in many cases thus means a lower harvest.

A too low or too high pH-value reduces the absorption of nutrients. Managing pH- and pH+ too often can disturb the natural pH-value in the earth and may increase the possibility for less absorption.

How can I influence the pH-value?
If the quality of the water differs too much from the standard pH value of 7.0-7.3, then you can use apple vinegar or citric acid to reduce the acidity of your water. Try to reach a value between 6.8 and 7.2. The best is to reduce the pH-value a little, until it reaches the correct level, and only then to add the Biobizz® nutrient.

So they are suggesting to use apple vinegar, in case your water PH is above 7.0-7.3 Mine should be in the range of 7.7, any thoughts on wether or not I should use apple vinegar to lower it down a bit? Also what's the effect of adding those nutes, do they lower or increase the PH of my water?

I've used biobizz all mix and didn't do anything to mess with the water. After 4 months the pH was 6.9.
Thanks for the info. Do you also know the PH of water you were using? Cause from what I understood if it's in the range of 7.0-7.3, soil will buffer it down, otherwise they recommend using some vinegar.

The tap water around here is also around 7-8. I honestly didn't bother with the pH of the soil, but it's probaby better to make sure everything is within range.
