I buy "water glass" locally. 35% potassium silicate by volume. Then i dilute that to 10-12% to make Pro-tekt". It's cheaper to impregnate concrete than growing herbs!
It's pretty bio-available. You notice the day after if you've over used it with thick brittle leaves.
