Thats good news about the check up man glad to hear it! The foot sounds painful, thing with ops and recovery time like that is at some points in life you simply cant sit around you have stuff to do, money to earn, cannabis to grow :P Hopefully the pain eases up a bit particularly with your crops :P :)
Exactly !!!:weed:
hey bigguy glad to hear about the hip doin better but the foot sounds not very fun at all...um maybe if hauling all that water were to get to be "too" much for ya maybe u can at least lug it to a closer spot with the riding lawnmower just dont take the same path everytime or just go somewhere near the plants enough so u dont have to lug them so far...thats my two cents hopefully you can figure sometin out though becuase im sure your gonna be cussin this summer when its hot as shit out and your shirts stickin to your body from sweat, blah o well its worth it, peace out bigguy
Good suggestions and if the asshole that has my riding mower ever gets it back here, I might try it. But then again with my luck the first time I did do it that way my GF's parents (they have a house on the property here too) would be asking wtf I'm doing mowing up there and there goes my secret crop. Oh well back to the wringing wet shirt sticking to me and wincing in pain for the next day til I do it again. At least if I do sell any I'll know that I earned whatever money I get for all the painstaking labor I put into this crop.
.

Thanks for all the concern and suggestions guys but don't worry, I'll make it through somehow and the rewards will be well worth it.

I got a good look tonight at some nice preflowers on some of the ladies. Both of the Black Rose's (well these were fem seeds anyway), K2, K5, WR1, WR3, Maybe WR5 (I hope so but I'm not 100%), and WR6 are all confirmed females. So that is 7 or hopefully 8 with female preflowers, WOOT WOOT !! So that means with the 5 LR females I've definately got well over half of the crop that are female, hell yeah !:weed:
I'll be due to water again tommorrow unless it rains. So I'm thinking that I should start giving these girls bloom nutes with that watering. The LR's have been getting bloom nutes for awhile now already, well between storms at least, and when they were still inside too. I want to pick up some blackstrap molasses this weekend for them as well.
Any input on this guys, I always appreciate good advise?
A lot of pics again tonight as I tried to show as many of the preflowers as I could.:peace:

I'm not going to actively go out and sell, but I'm sure I'll let some go to friends and family at a decent price.
Currently I only smoke a quarter - half per month, so even if I that went up to an O a month (without having to buy it), that is still only using well under a pound a year. And since I'm guessing, or should I say expecting, probably about three pounds or more, it does leave a bit of an excess that I will probably need to do something with. I sure as hell am not going to wish for a small harvest, and 3 pounds is a reasonable estimate from 20 outdoor plants, imo.
IDK, maybe I'm wrong with that estimate. What do you think?
According to the various seedbank info blurbs, outdoor harvests are supposed to be around 400 grams + on most of these except of course for the LR's. So even if only 8 (not inc. LR's) are female, and I only get 5 O's each, 5X8=40 ounces.:weed:
Only two males out of ten is a great ratio PceNluV. And like you've said, it gives the girls more room for those big buds. Your Ladies are looking great, btw, keep up the good work.:peace:
Sorry about the rambling......

hey big things are looking great : ] Did you cut any clones for your next grow? With molasses i use 1 tablespoon per gallon, i actually take the tablespoon and put it in a coffee cup with some water and heat it then mix with my gallon of water helps it dissolve faster.

Thanks Kaos, yeah they're coming along well these days.
No I haven't cut any clones. I wasn't planning on it as this is an outdoor grow and I won't be growing inside over the winter. But now that you mention it........hmmmmm........ I wonder if I could clone any of the Lowryder#2's.......hmmmmm.......I migh have to try that with a couple. I know where there is a willow tree by where I work, and I can make rooting compound from that........hmmmmm.........maybe.
Thanks for the tip with the molasses, much appreciated.:peace:

you can make your own rooting compound?

interesting.
Yeah, I'm trying to find it again, but I know I read about making it from willow tree branches.
You steep them in water and let them sit overnight then strain the juice out and if keep it refrigerated it lasts a long time.
I'll find the actual directions and post them in here.:peace:
OK, quick edit, I found a thread about it here: Willow Water

Alright here is the excerpt direct from our very own GrowFAQs section:
Make your own rooting hormone

How do I make my own Rooting hormone?

Contributed by: ¤Spiritus†Domini¤ & Flowerman

Cut some willow branches (All willow species produce this natural rooting hormone), into 2" or 4" long pieces (enough pieces to fill a bowl).

Put the willow cuttings into a big kettle (or pot) on the stove, fill with water (all cuttings should be are covered by water). Turn on minimum heat setting, cover with a lid, and leave on low (but do not boil) for 2 hours. Then turn off heat and leave kettle covered for 12 hours.

After the mixture has cooled for 12 hours, the water should be a dark brown. Strain out the water, and discard the branches. Pour the mixture into a container with a plastic top with holes pre-made, and just drop your cuttings in. Let the clones sit in the hormone for 12 to 24 hours (thus allowing the cuttings to fully absorb the rooting hormones), then plant into your medium.

Use as much rooting hormone as you require, then discard the used portion. The unused hormone can be stored in the ice box for years

Well I went up to water tonight and looked over the ladies real good to decide which ones needed the bloom nutes.
I'm not optimistic or stupid enough to actually think that they are all female, but I am pretty sure I saw preflowers on all of them except WR4 and the wild plant. So anyway, I started them all on bloom nutes (10-30-20) at 1 teaspoon per gallon, except those two.
I'm going to pick up some blackstrap molasses this weekend and will probably be alternating between the nutes and the molasses.
Or should I be doing both?:peace:

when using molasses be careful about insects and other critters, maybe just use the molasses the last 2 weeks during the flush.

Thanks for the input and the compliment.:peace:
Are you using Jacks's Classic Bloom? That NPK ratio is familiar.
Yep, good eye, thats the stuff, got it at a local garden shop.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. With them being outdoors they already have some kind of bugs chewing on them still and I don't need to invite more.
But as I understand it the molasses also has some nutritional value as well as for the flavor of the smoke.
I've even read that some of the high priced grower specific nute additives are nothing but molasses. Going to have to research this more.:weed:
More input on this please?!
Quick Edit;
I'm reading through this article in the GrowFAQs. It's quite a long article. But basically I've gleaned that you use 1 teaspoon per quart or about 1 tablespoon per gallon (1Tbl = 3tsp) for outdoor use. It's not a stand alone fertilizer (too low in phosphorous 3-1-5) so mixing with the Jack's Classic Bloom should be OK.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I am going to start using the combo soon.:peace:

i believe i read that same thread on here i use techna flora's sugar daddy and it smells similar just watery, i use this during most of the growth and then go with the molasses for the last 2 weeks, but i have also used molasses for the entire grow veg and flower. ( i am indoor though so not as big a worry for bugs ) my molasses has magnesium, i forget what other nutrients are also in there.

Thanks again Kaos, I think I'm going to go ahead and try the both of them for now and see how they like it and if bugs become an issue from it I'll stop and treat them with the neem extract.
At this point, unless it rains, I'll be giving them their first dose of this combo on Sunday. Right now they've been getting 1 gallon each every three days. I'd imagine once it gets really warm out that will go up to every other day. I hope I don't have to haul 20 gallons up there every day, but if I do, I will.:peace:
