Biggest yield outdoors....

Hello all

had a question for those of you with experience...

i am looking to get started outdoors for my first time
have a prime spot and already fenced it up a little with natural brush

anyways, the seedbank i get my seeds from has strains for outdoors that they say can get 10-12 pounds off of

is this totally unobtainable?

what is the biggest yield anyone has ever attained?

i would imagine this is with vegging the plants to be like 4 foot tall before even putting outside but just wondering people's opinions on this

thanks:fire:

I have no experience in growing outdoors, although I am going to this season using clones. You are exactly right about pre-vegging them, if you give your plants a nice strong indoor veg before the season you will obviously obtain a much higher yield. Make sure your area is safe for monster size plants like this. O and I did actually grow a bag seed outdoor last season (forgot) that I pre-vegged indoors I had it indoors under some tube flourescents for about a month and a half. I cropped out just over 15 oz's dryed from just that one monster.

It deppends on the weather in your area and the strain.. But thats an awful lot.. Ive heard stories about 30 foot giant bush's in vietnam and some pretty big ones in cali.. But up here in the northwest most the outdoor plant ive seen end up, 4-8 feet tall.. And ive seen ones that have produced close to five pounds dryed bud, but 3/4 of a pound to 2 pounds is far more common..

if your seedbank is saying shit like that you may want to take a second look at them. while this does happen it is becouse of perfect conditions with an expierienced grower that knows his particular plant well. and in an area with a perfect climate. being your first year focus on bringing in a good crop not how much you can get of one. dont expect to grow a couple plants and be rich. being successful outdoors requires a bit of hard work if your trying to grow alot. if your growing for yourself a half dozen good plants grown well will produce enough. at least for me it will. if your going to veg them 4 foot you better have them planted today. also height is not everything if you have week lights and they are just stretching to reach the light this would be worse than having 2' plants with short internode spacing. i live northeast north america, not the best season here. with a good plant grown 2' put out in june i consider .5-1lb a success. a lb is not the norm here but i have had freak plants with over 2 on them so there is alot of factors to consider.

Its weird that a seedbank would say that ANY strain yields that much. They usually tend to UNDERestimate the yield of the strains for some reason. Either way, don't ever EXPECT any kind of yield. You can HOPE for the kind of numbers they are saying on their website though!

The most I have ever personally yielded from a single plant was 1000g or so dry, but outdoor my plants average about 300-700g. That one big one was about 8 feet and most of the others around 6 feet.

However, I live in the heart of the Emerald Triangle and, by those standards, my numbers are relatively unimpressive. I work for a number of more "seasoned" growers yielding upwards of 5 pounds on every single plant in their garden. Start them indoor around February and veg 'em up nice and big until they go outside in May at about 3-6 feet. Last year I assisted in harvesting one boss' crop where he pulled 137 pounds from 25 legal-beagle plants. One Maui plant had 11 pounds.

Well I wish you and everyone luck on some heavy harvests and outrageous yields. Peace RIU.

of course its bcseeds, i grow from them for my indoor strains and am very happy with my results, i really dont want this thread to go into a bashing thread

i do not plan on purchasing any specific strain for outdoor but im just curious

i will be using a few solid plants i have now for outdoor and i dont expect crazy yields, just wondering how everyone else does outside

thanks for all replies... and 137 lbs from 25 plans... man that would be nice lol

lol yeah im just curious to what people can pull from an outdoor grow, i feel like 12 pounds is complete and total BS.... again, im not going to dish out the money for this strain but was just wondering how people do outside

and lol at the pic, cant imagine that pushing out a pound

according to bc, it is a brand new strain that they finally got right, as it was just added to the catalog this week,

i love their little story.

every strain has some gay ass story. they can't just say we crossed this with that. it's always some fantasy story about this one lone seed or this one most amazing plant.

the golden child.

except they make up the same kind of story for every new strain.

Here's a picture of my friend (we'll call him Bruce or Ricky or Garence) standing by a plant in a crop we helped with this past Summer. Ricky is just under 6 feet in height so I think we can safely call that plant 9 feet correct? But if you notice, there arent any buds on that plant. This is because I took this picture of Garence on July 31st and had barely begun flowering. It was a Sticky K x Purple Urkel plant that finished in maybe mid October at about 13 or 14 feet tall and about 8 feet wide and yielded 7 pounds of good hard (albeit commercial grade) purple bud. The grower pulled 80 pounds from 25 plants.

Sorry about the bad quality it was about 110 degrees out that day and my cellphone was covered in sweat and dirt (as if it wasn't a shitty enough camera already).

Yep, and you still need to sort through them to get the pheno you want. They act like all the best qualities blend like paint - sorry but no.

However, if anyone knows a great strain for someone with high ceilings please share.
