Ok so this is my first journal and I am going to try something a bit different (for me anyway). I am going to SCROG a single Train Wreck and I am going to shoot for 2 grams per watt!!

Let me give you the details first.

The cabinet:
The dimensions are 18x18x35. It is lined with 1/2 reflective foam board and has an intake fan and an exhaust fan both moving 34 cfm.

The light:
I will be using a single 68 watt CFL in a 2700k spectrum putting out 4600 lumens of light and I may add 1 more for flowering but that may be a bit overkill. I am already at 34 watts per square foot.

The goal:
As I have stated I will be growing this under a screen and my goal for this grow is 136 GRAMS!! Yup 2 GRAMS PER WATT!!!! Think I'll do it?

The seed popped today so I will call this day 1. Below is a couple pics of the cab and the germinate baby girl in a peat pellet.

I will update daily if I am able to and I will +Rep any useful knowledge or tips as this is my first SCROG.

that 27k lights not very good for vegetative growth. and a 136 grams from one cfl is doubtful at best

I a not sure what you are talking about. I have never mentioned a 24w CFL and there is no way I can run my HPS in a 2 square foot cab. Maybe you might wanna read the thread before commenting.

Well the Train Wreck just broke the surface today. Pics tomorrow. Kinda sucks I need to subscribe to my own threads now that my last 5 are gone thanks to the "upgrade".

no... aparently not. My take is CFL's aren't where it is at for flowering. Too hot per watt. These "200 watt equiv" statements by the bulb manufacturer's are very misleading. Usable light on a cfl is a very short distance from the bulb. 2 grams a watt, on a tight scrog, you must be talking about 30 or more medium or 10 large cfl hookups basically right above and around and under the scrog. That is a 2' x 2' area. Just my take on it, but based on my experiences with CFL's - keep em in the veg room, don't bother with them in the bloom room. For supplimental light>? Again, you would be dealing with dozens of clip lights or similar headaches. Using a T5 Deck sideways would produce much better results, spending the extra $$ to get the proper spectrum bulbs for like 20 bux a pop. But I HIOGHLY doubt 2 g a watt in any instance. To do that, first you have to give the plant the right amount of watts per plant. If a full sized blooming plant only gets 200 or less watts - its not gonna give you a gram a watt, much less 2. Using any flouro's - HUGE DOUBTS. Peace

i have vegged and flowered under 4 2700k daylight cfls the whole grow and had 2 mason jars 3/4 full after drying and curing from 2 plants one was lst'd while the other was a super crop both grown in an old fridge grow box one with bubbleponics hydro and the other was a soil mix. it was an experimental grow concerning the difference between hydro/soil and lst and super crop. the super crop in hydro was by far the thickest plant and had most yield at that time but the soil went and extra week or so over before ready yielding slightly less.
