BHO tips and tricks

I wouldn't recommend a round dish, but if you do use a round dish measure you vac chamber, I've blasted into a 9" bowl and moved that straight into my 3gal chamber it was the clearest shatter I ever made since there ewas no agitating.
did you ever transfer it onto paper? or did you do the whole purge in the bowl

So what is the difference between blasting directly on to parchment in a pyrex dish vs directly blasting into a pyrex dish?
I guess the difference is that you can't scrape parchment with a blade and then your unpurged oil is all gooey on a piece of parchment paper...used to have to freeze it to unstick the glob of shatter from the paper when it was all purged but won't stick to these no goo dishes. Do it any way you like but I found that those no goo silicone dishes are perfect for purging... Plus I've read that the paper can release undesirable impurities into the oil although I've tried doing it this way with no noticeable detriment to the finished product.

Not sure if it's a tip or trick but I found that using more than 1 coffee filter on the end of your tube is unnecessary and can lower your yield by trapping BHO & sponging it up instead of filtering it out.

Ive read that directly blasting onto those no goo silicone dishes releases undesirable impurities but a piece of unbleached parchment paper does not.

But back to my question above.. Lets say my end goal is shatter, could I just blast it into the pyrex dish, purge the butane in vaccuum chamber and then have some shatter ready to go? or should I transfer the oil at some point to a different surface like parchment paper?

Like I said I dropped the bowl in the chamber than finished purge that way, only time it hit parchment paper was when it was done... TIP: I purge around 95-100 to get the nice shatter, but bring temps up to like 120 for just a few minutes to make it easier to get the shatter out of the bowl...

If you can fit your pyrex in your chamber that works, I typically put it on parchment paper. And yes I too have read that blasting straight to parchment or straight to silicone is not a good idea as it releases a gas or somewhat, why take that chance.

I'm trying to make some shatter, any advice?
I'm no expert but low temps are key to retaining the lightest terpenes. Shatter to me is more visually appealing but not the easiest to grab a dab off of...unless its hot enough its more like taffy. I prefer the taffy state BUT even leaving that out for a week it will start to become opaque and wax like. Try using e freshest bud u can for the butane extraction as older bud and trim has usually already lost or started to lose a decent bit of those mouth watering intense aromas(terpenes)

Good luck!

Also keep you film thin...the thicker your pool or oil in the vac chamber the longer it takes so possibly perform multiple vacs and scrapes.

I don't recommend blasting into the no goo dishes... Yes use Pyrex for that... after you scrape up your oil you can put it on whatever non stick surface will fit in your chamber but I recommend either a no goo dish or parchment.. Although the silicone is much better IMO

I blast into a round dish, use a tool to get the majority of the material out, scrape w/ a blade from the middle towards me, rotating the bowl (gets every last bit, no corners!) Put that onto some martha wrap (foil backed unbleached parchment) then I form a shape and purge, purge, purge...

i feel like you would lose a lot of flavour if you were to do that

why do u reccomend bubble bags?

can anyone recommend a griddle/heatsource to use for keeping the chamber @ 95-110 degrees?
i have a presto griddle from wally world it was 20 bucks, and turn the knob till the light turns on, but get an IR gun to check the temps

ok what about filters? should i just use unbleached coffee filters or silkscreens? and if silkscreens what micron?

what tubes do you guys use as well?
