So this guy I know that owns a dispensery said he has a chemist that can extract thc similar to bho but does not use any he said they just use heat and some other steps that didn't make sense and wouldn't say anymore has anyone ever heard or know any ways to extract thc similar to a bho without using bho he also said its no chemicals were used I think he is stretching the truth a bit

Extractions are of two sorts:
1) mechanical (kief, bubble)
2) solvent.

I did see someone post pics of using ultrahigh pressures to hot-press some oily material from bud, but recovery was marginal. cn

I know there is other methods of extractions but he was saying the end product was the same as bho he just used heat sorry for bad explanation I'm pretty high

Ive heard of a fellow speak of propane extractions. He claims its just as good as co2 with out the 50k machine.

ive heard of this way you can do it using nitrogen and vibrations. its an expensive machine but its wayyy better and you can make a ton at a time. like no joke it holds a bunch of material. the nitrogen is not used to do anything to the material directly but it has layers of metal and is inbetween the outside and the inside. (obv, lol)

Sorry, never heard of just heat for extraction.

I'm a cheap bastard, so I refuse to pay hundreds if not thousands for an extraction machine.

99% ISO, $8.00L
Cofee filter, $1.50
A few dollars in electricity.

Makes me all the hash I want.

ahhh so much misinformation in so few posts!!

first thing id like to address is propane extracts...
they work exactly the same as butane extracts, they are both non polar extractions.

second what he might be referring to is either a sub critical extraction or a super critical extraction.

either of those are going to require about 5 thousand dollars worth of high pressure vessels and a pricey machine to regulate everything. i doubt anyone does either of these to be honest, more of a marketing ploy than anything else. the product you get from co2 extracts are not that good.
the beauty behind bho is that your extracting cbd with thc as well as other terpenoids, super critical extractions only extracts a single molecule form at one time,.. hence the less than desirable product with marginal yields.

if i were to bet id say hes selling you bho and trying to pass it off as his "secret method"

This link below is according to harbor side health center. If you read the whole comment it won't really tell you much more. This is the most credible info I ever found on the subject....which is disappointing.

* The was is produced with a Hyperbolic chamber using hypo-barometric pressure with a reverse Nitrogen boil (bringing ambient temp. to -28*F) on the exterior of the chamber. The buds are then forced through a series of filters that filter out not by size of the trichome but by density.

Imagine the pressures to get liquid co2 to supercritical and how it then "bursts" into a fog (of equidistant component spacing)...

Now imagine multiplying that pressure many many times and applying it to ground up cannabis - "Poof!" - a "fog" of individual components - like shaking up a bottle of salad dressing... Now quench it to supercold quickly. The compounds will now settle and stratify according to their specific gravity's. (their weight.) Just like what happens to that salad dressing after you take it back out of the fridge. Handily - the desired cannabinoids and terpenes are pretty heavy and settle so they can be filtered and selected.

This is all a very simplified description of the process - but the results are awesome.

Welcome to the 21st century.

No solvents... No co2... Just pressure and temperature.
