Beware Agromax grow tent HTG supply!

son of a bitch!! i think i found my problem. this is my first grow in a tent (just bought it from my buddy) and i haven`t lost this many plants since i had a rabbit eat 75 clones a few years ago. reading this makes perfect sence so i took them out of the tent and put them in the closet i use to grow in. i just put 6 in the tent 3 days ago were lookin good goin in but look like shit now. it didn`t click a month ago when i took a couple sick plants out and they came around in a few days. put them back in and they grew like shit. if they come around this time that tent is goin on ebay. lol

The plants I left in the tent are almost to the point they wont be able to recover. Don't buy an Agromax tent! I don't know if they all do this but the one I have does for sure! They say they don't off gas but they do and I'm pissed about it!

If anyone is using one of these with or without problems please chime in!

I own one of their tents and I think its great. Cheap and does the job. I had one issue when I bought it originally where it had a factory defect of no zippers (couldnt open it!) but I returned it no questions asked and got a working tent. I've used it for a couple grows. I literally unboxed it and started using it.

One question I have is why would it even matter if the tent is giving off gas? Your fan should be removing all air in that tent every minute or so anyway. If it was giving off gasses they shouldnt affect your plant so much. In any event, I don't think its the tent thats giving off gas and killing your plants. More likely that the tap water, nutrients, or medium has a super high or super low PH. I would double check all three those.

LOL! You didn't read the whole thread either! It's already confirmed it gasses off by the distributor and several people who have been growing for sometime. Don't post dumb comments till you read the whole thread, nutes, RO water, 3 PH meters already have been mentioned.

YES! You will see that me and Mightmare had 2 400cfm fans running!! I had fresh air coming into room!! It is so toxic that it doesn't matter. I have my Agromax tent all boxed up and shipping it back today! Had to make my own box, and pay for shipping but you couldn't pay me to keep it in the house! Also have been wheezing alot this past month when I wake up, tent is in garage above my bedroom. Wonder if it's affecting me too?

I will post pictures tonight of the girls I took out, I have crammed them in my old closet. I bet they turn around. Will post pictures for all the non-believers when they do. How can it be anything else but the tent if all else stays the same? It starts off with just one leaf turning yellow at tips/sides. Then in a few days you have 2. then 4, then 8. Oh and growth just stops. Thank you Nightmare for starting this post! at least I found out early! costing me about $55 to ship back and I had it 5 weeks!! You coundn't PAY me to keep an AGROMAX tent in my house!! I wish eveyone with them luck, you're gonna need it!

Oh and Nightmare I thought PH probs and bought another PH meter too! Then Mag deficiency, then temp, then TDS, then God hates me, then.....

lol, Nice Ol Bud....it just means that the materials used to make the tent were treated or made with a certain chemical that when put under certain conditions (high intensity grow lights, humidity, temperature) it tends to let off gases into the tent which close off the stomata of the marijuana plants, in the end suffocating them to death. In other words, cheap Chinese tent materials = not so great grow conditions like intended.

Great info everyone, good job coming to a conclusion! I was about to order a new tent and was considering agromax because it looks the most similar to a Gorilla Grow Tent, but half the cost. I will be spending the extra money on the quality of the Gorilla brand.

Hey Original, let us know how that Gorilla works for you. I decided to go a little cheaper with a Secret Jardin. Have read good things about them. Have seen the specs on the "hammered mylar" and other peoples reviews. Should arrive soon I hope...

You're right, I didn't read the thread. Dumb comment? I don't think so, just an uninformed comment, by choice :)

Looks like it might be gassing off :) When did you purchase the tent? They had tents for a while and then all of them went out of stock (2010/2011) suddenly they came back but were of much higher quality. I got one of the these newer ones in 2011 and its fine, no issues at all. After re-reading the whole thread I saw that you or someone washed theirs and got a yellow liquid from it. Does cleaning the tent help it or is it just poor manufacturing?

Just got mine end of October. It's gone back. Glad you didn't have trouble, They said only some people don't know why, or they aren't saying. Didn't want to take a chance with another one.

Feb 2011. I didnt notice a difference in quality, just two added windows. I don't know if cleaning helped it or not. I had plants that were getting too big and I needed to flower them, so I took a chance. Now that I found yellow liquid and material floating in my tub, I would wash and rinse any tent I get now and in the future. No one knows why some tents are gassing off and others are not. I buy a lot of Hydrofarm gear, it's made in China but the quality is great. Hydrofarm is USA spec made in China. Basically instead of making the product here, they move it to China and keep the same specs so they save money on labor and material costs. Agromax is made in China and HTG has them use that name, shame on HTG for using cheap untested items.

wow. I bought the mother keeper from HTG on ebay back in Feb. and I haven't been able to grow a thing in it. I've lost all of my fem seeds in it, plus some bagseed I used as a test when I was trying to figure out what the hell was going on. I've NEVER had grow problems until I switched over to that tent. The pictures you guys posted look exactly like my plants, only mine don't make it that far. They grow SLOWLY and start to die at 3 weeks. Nothing about my method changed except that damn tent. I've had it so long I doubt they will take it back.

Well, I contacted them and they told me the off gassing claims are total bullshit and that the claims are user error related. I took my babies out of there a week ago and they're fully recovered and growing fast as hell. I never noticed before, maybe because of the fans, but it smells like plastic in there. I'll try to wash it and put some tomato plants in there or something and see how that goes. Never shopping at HTG again. I'd rather pay a few bucks more just for the peace of mind.

lol i bought a mother keeper off of HTG in March 2012 and never had any problem with it, so i guess it's just different ones with different problems, who knows.........

Well that's good to hear. I think I got the last of the older model. Mine doesn't have a window. I don't see how that would make a bit of difference though. I'm pretty sure they're manufactured the same. I washed it and it's all falling apart now. Oh well, I wasn't going to use it again anyway.
