Between two LED lights...

I retract my statement. COBS are the Best.
Then Area 51 using cree xpg2 chips then any blurple, but they are all the same.
actually I would bet that the xpg2's give current cobs more than enough competition, but yes about all the rest and apologies for being a dick, but at least it sank in. Good luck with your new grow, if you get it off the ground with COB's should be a f'in blast...:peace:

Oh yeah the xpg2 and xml2 for sure compete with cobs for sure, but are more expensive for same wattage for cxb atleast have not priced vero. Thanks and no worries, gotta call out bs when you see it and my statement was bs. I will ill informed due to marketing but am well informed since then

NO PROB. I sound like a raving loon there.

Pled has reputation for misleading customers, for straight up impersonating another company, and for lying about their product and its performance. Pled has the rare distinction of being terminated as a sponsor at 420. Now at 420 it is like a snake oil sales carnival. Still Pled got the hook.

You can search riu for pled info.

However just like Mars or Kind, Pled will grow acceptable flowers. The fucked up part is that you pay a premium for gear that is old tech/inefficient and also not especially reliable. There are far superior options,

Do plenty of research before you decide. There is a lot to learn about the physics of light and just as much about the connivers who will slsp s shiny label, post some stoner science then say and sell anything for a fucking cent.

If you've got the time and inclination DIY is unquestionably the best value. RIU is the spot for DIY.
Thanks for getting back to so quickly, much appreciated. I just checked on what you just told me and I have to admit, it's a bit worrying. I've done a fair bit of research into the physics of light recently but what I've found to be incredibly difficult is to decipher the fact from the bullshit since all the LED manufacturers make pretty big claims. I guess until I get PAR and Spectrum meters and do some testing on different kit it will be impossible to tell.

I love the idea of making some but have very little time at the moment and would need to do a lot more research. If could ask you two more things that would be awesome. What brands do you recommend and do you have any thoughts on which is the best type of LED light out of Birdglelux, Osram, Cree & Epistar as they seem to be the most commonly used.

Setting aside the time to learn the essentials is worthwhile. From there you might consider diy. If not you'd have become fluent enough to discern the top performers from the marketing clowns.

My light uses v29's and 3590's.

Do the research, it is worth it. Cree cxb3590, cxa3070 or vero29 if on a budget. Check out Cutter Electronics or Pacific Lights Concepts for parts and prices. Lots of info at indoor grows/LEDs and other lighting.
Good Luck!

I built a 4xcxb3590 bar and compared my Kind and the Advanced together. I could defiantly tell the difference immediately. I already sold my l600 and the 600 Advanced. I'm working on a 16 cob cxb3590 5x5 room build right now, I should be posting pictures of the finished build in there and a follow up build. I can understand the talk about PAR and stuff like that, but what really matters is experimentation and results. Also adapting from them to get the highest yield possible, and save money on electricity.

Got a G8 240 watter (2 yrs old). I use it for germination and vegging out in a 2 d x 4 w x 5 h homemade veg chamber. Plants like it.

I've been getting outstanding results from an Optic Vero 250. It's my main light now. Sold off my Area 51's, Blackstars, and Mars.
