Bestva led

By now there are tons of threads of people asking about bestva leds, every time the answer seeems to be the same: bestva is same tier lighting as marshydro and most ebay/amazon blurples: wanting in power and efficiency but can definitely grow a plant.

But with proper lighting so accessible (qbs, china qbs, all sorts of easily setup samsung/blux strip lights) why go for sub par?

Also: all of these bestva threads only ever get a page long whereas the quantum board is now over 600 pages; which light do you think is your long term keeper?

You can shop around on alibaba for quantum board copies, some of them are under 300$ by now. But ali shopping is always a bit of a lottery; your buying without a very actionable warrranty.

If you have access to decent priced aluminium (sheets or u-channel) there are several ways to go with DIY. To be honest its the only way to go if you want something which is both cheap and good, and not alibubbers.
My favorite combo would be bridgelux vesta strips (about 8$ each so) at around 20w each on a meanwell driver, abouut 30w per square foot. For a 3x3 or 4x2: 18 strips on a lrs-350 is about 200$ on digikey and it will utterly crush a small tent. Add some extra $ towards some aluminium for heatsinks and cables.

The Vesta strip are dual spectrum: 2 channels and one of them is 2700k 90 cri which flowers like a beast. The other is very veg friendly. You can also run both chaannels at the same time for a good fullcycle kinda spectrum.
