As the title says, what are your opinions in the best way to utilize this thing? I was going to run a 48 plant SOG but im just curious to what others would do.

Im looking to yield 1.5lbs or more every cycle.

I have a 4x4 with a 600w hps in it and i top and lst and average about 4-5 zips per plant. Havent had it full in a while but when i do ill probably hit a lb. Thats with only about a month to 6 weeks of veg under my 400w cmh. I start topping them really early. Sometimes ill take clones that have 2 side branches coming out of it and ill top it when im trimming the leaves and putting cloning gel on it. Really helps you start early on it.

Works good for me. haha. Hope this helped.

I say vertical grow , two bulbs in the middle 1 high ,1 low and plants all around it.
I plan to do this but I want too get another spot 1st so I can have room to experiment..
I think a vertical grow is the best way to utilize a smaller space , my 2cents...
Good Luck!

Thats definitely not an option for me and I dont think that would really be utilizing a 4x4 tent very well at all.

Im using a 1k watt hps with a nice 42" parabolic reflector with a SOG style right now. I guess ill see how my yields are after one run with this and see if I should switch it up.

This is just my first time with hydro (coming from soil) and Im just using simple bubble buckets until I can convert it into a RDWC if I decide Perpetual SOG isnt going to work out.

I would ditch the parabolic idea in a 4x4 tent, if your gonna run a 1000 watter in a 4x4 id run a magnum or a blockbuster, works amazing and temps are much easier to control. Parabolics are great in open spaces but not so much in a small tent, just my opinion anyways. And a vert scrog around a 600 in a 4x4 works pretty well for the record

While running a sog it does? I figured the parabolic would work wonders with a 48 plant SOG because of the footprint created by the reflector creating a real nice canopy. I already have a non cooltube reflector that runs SUPER hot and I am able to keep my temps between 70-80 with my set up bringing cool air in through the cool basement and exhausting into the ceiling of the basement. (intake is at floor level bringing in really nice and cool air) Im running a reflector now that is meant for a rectangle room so most of my plants on the outter rim are definitely hurting from the limited footprint.

Thanks for all your input, its greatly appreciated. I figured I would run my lamp vert with the new hood to capture all the light that would normally be shot up wards..

Since I am able to control temps without a cool tube would you think running vert with the parabolic might be close to ideal with my situation? I mean my whole tent floor is full of plants so I need light to be concentrated fairly evenly across the whole thing and I am anal about light going to waste with a bare bulb and light not concentrated on the lil ladies.

I know you said vertical wasn't an option but if you can make the switch absolutely do it. I am running 1 1000 watt hps in a 4x4 tent vertical style. A 4x4 is perfect for a 1000 watt in a vertical setup. This is my first run with vertical and I didn't quite get my plants big enough to take full advantage of the system but I am easily gonna pull a pound. That's not bad in a 4x4 with no co2 and grown in soil. However after I dial it in I can see it reaching the GPW mark. I havnt even finished my first crop yet and I cant see myself ever going back to any form of horizontal growing.

Im in a different situation, im in a more tropical state and dont really have a winter so controlling temps is a battle year round, thats why I like magnum xxxl in 4x4s, theyre great in my situation. Bare bulbs are great if you can control temps, no doubt about that. I dont run sog, its just not practical for me, getting popped with 6 rooted clones under a t5 is worse than 4 5' plants under 2000 watts so maximum production is less of a concern than maximizing what I can get out of 4 plants so im kinda biased in my opinions. A bare bulb 1000 will kill anything else out there if you can control temps and keep it close, if its 4' above your plants its not going to out preform a magnum or a blockbuster at 2' tho, thats my rant, im rrrripped n this took a lot of concentration

I run a 4x4x7 tent with a xxl cool tube 600w light. last run I did 7- 3gal pots and netted 17.65 zips (dried). this run im doing 6- 5gal pots, and hoping my yield will be more in the 1.5lb range. I FIM, supercrop, and lollipop all thru veg. and take clones 4 days before flipping. I still cant time taking my cuttings, flipping and harvesting yet. im always 2-3 weeks over my veg time before harvesting. my flower room plants get to be about 5.5' tall. I normally just about max out my light height adjustments before I top out.
