Best Way to Light and Mature My Plant

So im new to this and i was just wondering if anyone had any helpful suggestions on the best way to light my new plant. Currently it's about 4in tall and 2 weeks old. Ive been giving her 18/6 but i was thinking about switching to 16/8 for the next week and then moving her into the flowering stage the next week going 12/12. My problem is i don't have very much vertical room and im hoping she won't get taller than 2ft.

Does anyone know if this is a good idea or will work?:weed:

Hi ya Jo :)

Welcome to RiU :)

What kind of lighting are you useing ? ...Im guessing CLF ? ..If so , You can try getting the light as close as you can to the top , This will stop your baby from streaching up TO much looking for light and keep her shorter for longer .

Look into LST ...( Low Stress Training ) This will allso help to keep her low .

What kind of hight do you have ?... tell us a bit more about your growing enviroment ... include pics if possible .

A longer veg stage will mean better and more bud ... so the longer you can keep her short befor switching to 12 /12 the better .

The avarage burst in growth ( depending on strain and conditions ) after switching to 12 / 12 is about 2 to 3 times the hight your plant is on 18/6 or 16/8 ... that should help you calculate how much she will grow after switching to 12/12 and give you an idea of when you should switch depending on your hight restriction :)

Hope that helps a bit

And again ..Welcome to RiU :)

thanks vento,

Currently im growing her under my desk with circulation coming from a fan so that the air doesnt get stale. My big thing about height is that im moving shortly so i need it to be somewhat inconspicuous. What i did was set my fan back about 4ft and have it pointed up at the top of the desk and as it hits the top it circulates down to the plant. On avg the temp is between 75-78 with the humidity rarely if ever leaving 50-60% and yeah i am using CFL's keeping the light about 3in above the plant.

I'll post some pics later cause currently she's sleeping
