Best way to keep room cool with what I have

Alright so I recently added another tent to the guest room and things are getting hot.

I’ve got my clone/veg tent (2.5x2.5x5) with a mars hydro reflector 96 in it running 18/6 (6pm-12pm). Currently there is just a vent pipe out the top into the room and the two passive flaps are open.

I’ve also got a larger flower tent (3x5x7) with a lush Dominator 2xxl on 12/12 (8pm-8am). In this tent I currently have a 4” 189cfm fan (placed outside the tent) attached to a carbon filter(inside) and exhausting out the window. I’ve got 3 small oscillating fans inside to keep air moving. This tent stays roughly 10-12 degrees hotter than the ambient temp of the room. When I wake up around 7am it’s usually around 88 degrees in the tent.
As of tonight, I’ve got another 165cfm 4” fan as an intake on the bigger tent set to low in the variable speed controller. It’s coming into the tent on the opposite lower side from the exhaust.

I’ve been putting a large box fan in the window of the grow room pulling air in and a oscillating fan in the doorway blowing out of the room into the house to try and keep it cool but it’s still decently warm (ambient in room 74-76 even when it’s pulling in 65 degree ish air from outside)

Not sure if I should keep the fan as an Intake, use it to vent the veg tent (3 recently rooted clones in there currently nothing really going yet), or what I should do. We’re moving in mid October and I’ll have central air and more space so temp won’t be as much of a worry, just trying to finish out this flower without roasting everything. I tried getting the room as cold as possible (72 @8:30am) before work today and then shut the door and windows and it was back up to 78 when I got home. I’m rambling by now, just trying to give as much info into my issue as possible

Are both lights LED?
If so your not in as bad shape as you think.

Yes duct the veg tent out of the window with the fan your using as intake.
Otherwise its just warming the room more than need be.
Hopefully that will shave off 5 degrees.

If that doesn't work then try and minimise the length of ducting and any bends. Looks like a lot of duct and the fans may not be good at moving through that much.

A 6" extraction fan would be useful but you said with what you have now so...

With window open all night the room got down to 69 degrees and the big tent is still sitting 13 degrees higher at 82 degrees, so I realistically need s bigger exhaust fan for the big tent probably?
82f is bang on the money with LED. We typically run a bit hotter due to less radiant heat so we can keep leaf and root temps a bit warmer.

That said, it never hurts to have more airflow than you need for those hot parts of the year. So long as you can turn it down with a speed controller.

Yes both lights are LEDs, and 82 is the absolute lowest I can get it, with lights off falling down generally around 77-78 during the day because my house gets warm. For the first portion of the lights on, she’s running up closer To 88-90 at times until I can cook the room off. Since we don’t have central air I’m currently stuck relying on pulling air into and pushing it out of the room from either outside or the air conditioned living room depending on temps inside and outside. Itsnjust getting tiring constantly having to check and adjust trying to figure out the best formula for most of the time, obviously sometimes adjustments will need to be made

Vent out the window. And have some fans running in the room. Also try to get some air being drawn into the room from an outside source.

Expel the hot air out of the room while drawing in cool fresh air.
Unfortunately during the day cool fresh air isn’t always an option. Day time temps outside are 90+ every day and my house holds heat like a mother fucker so often inside during the day my house is roughly 78-80 degrees in the main rooms, I’m gone from the house 830a-630p roughly every day so I’m trying to figure out how to keep this room the coolest. Couldn’t give a damn whats going on in the rest of the house honestly. Really just trying to not have to run the living room window unit all day when nobodies home (grow room is right off the living room, that would be the only cool air source during the day. Once the outside temp is lower than inside I’ve been opening the windows with the fan drawing into the room and then the secondary fan blowing from the room into the house but I’m stuck in what to do before the outside temp drops at night. Sometimes it’s not until after 930pm

Well I know you said with what you have but I'd jump on like Craiglist or Facebook marketplace and find a cheap window unit. Should be able to find one for like 50 bucks or less. Doesn't need to be very big. It doesn't sound like you have cool enough air to effectively air cool the room cause your house stays so warm any air your pulling in to replace your hot air is already warm. That being said if that's your only option it's starting to change season should be cooler soon , well depending where your at, but you can finish at higher temps if needed just might not be as dense as your used too. I saw a study where higher temps actually led to overall more cannanaboids, can't remember now but basically they were trying to say if running for extracts only that higher temps would give bigger yields of extract. That leads me to believe that if your going for personal that you will be fine as far as having meds they might just not have the bag appeal your used too.

Best advice I have read on here as far as getting nugs to to achieve more denseness ...not a word lol...
Dim your lights last 2 to 3 weeks
I have been running a lot at 50% with two 600hps due to heat....hardest damn buds ever for me!

Tried shutting the windows and light blocking curtains, left the oscillating and box fan running to move air, exhausted the veg tent out the window, and shut the door to the room today. When I left the room was 69.8 and the tent was 71.1. The high today is only supposed to get to 78 so we’ll see how the room is later when I get home

I also found someone selling a 334cfm 6” canmax fan w speed control for $30 that I plan to scoop on Thursday to use as an exhaust for the big tent

I have an 8in exhaust fan w/speed control and at full speed my 5x5 tent will suck in. I noticed that I could rapidly remove heat with it on high, more then 5° in a couple minutes, or I could adjust the speed to moderate my heat loss.

Best of luck to you Bassheadgrowsweed.

That new fan should help out some, I meant to say something earlier about that 4 inch fan, I can't see the brand but it looks just like my 4 inch vivosun fan and mine is junk. It barely keeps up in a 2x4 with a 4 bulb t5 fixture. I originally ordered it with a carbon filter for my 3x3 and it wasn't enough. Although I was sure something was wrong with mine and it wasn't pulling enough, but maybe 4 inch fans just don't move enough air.

Are the sides of your tent sucking in at all?

I hardly ever recommend portable ac but in this application it would work good. Most people are just trying to get too much out of them but it should def be able to cool a couple leds.
I use mine as an extra. It’s 78 during the day and 78 at night. It’s kinda chilly tbh.

I guess I don’t have a super difficult time managing temps at lights on so long as it’s cooler outside which it has been as much as I do from the room heating up during the day while I’m gone. How much is she going to suffer from having a smaller temperature gap between lights on and off? Let’s say only a 4 degree drop from lights on to off. I’m on my way to go get that bigger exhaust fan right now so that the tent won’t be 14 degrees warmer than the room. The cheapest portable ACs I can find around here are around $150 which is more than I’m wanting to spend for the next 6 weeks of flowering

Alright I picked up and installed the new 6” exhaust in the flower tent, and set up the stronger 4” fan in the clone/veg tent and I’ve got both tents venting outside, I will hook up the carbon filter in the smaller tent tomorrow once I grab more straps. I’m hoping this helps some. I’m Going to try leaving the door open with fans pointing out of the room tomorrow while I’m working to see how that effects the temperature of the room because fans running door shut didn’t work well. The flower tent is only running about 8 degrees hotter right now so I think the bigger exhaust was a good step forward at least. I’ve got both fans inside their tents now (they were outside due to hanging constraints) so hopefully all the heat produced will stay trapped in the tents and vent straight outside preventing them from beating the room up? Maybe I’m overthinking it but I’m doing everything I can to keep the room as cold as I can
