Best way to go ?

4x4 tent with 4 marshydro ts1000 . Totals 600w at the wall . Wondering how many plants I should do per grow to get the most out of my equipment? Also how long should I veg for ? What do shorter vs longer veg times acquire ? How many times do you usually top ? I have 2 plants that are heavily lst . And plan to do the same to the others . 3 of the plants are 5 weeks old roughly . I’ve topped twice already. Also would you increase lighting at this point or add a second tent for veg , budget 400$ ? As title says , what’s the best way to go ? Thanks in advance. Sorry for the multi part question!

I made an uneducated purchase at the time . I’m aware of the entry level lighting . It is what it is . Gonna send it . If I gotta add more lights so be it. Looking for input on how many plants to run and how many months to veg for best overall results . I could always add another 100 or so watt light to add some back up .

I did the same on a tsw2000:shock: ( what a joke )... long story short..I'm back to the 600hps

I think 6 plants in 5 gallon pots would be almost ideal in a 4x4. Your going to lose some floor space to equipment. Veg time is dependent on vertical space imo. I have 8 foot tents so I can veg as long as I want. If you are vertically limited you need to veg shorter or get a short indica leaning plant. Training is over-rated at times. My current grow I didn't top at all and still have multiple tops on all plants. Good luck.

I have 8 foot as well . I only trained for learning purposes . And to help apply an even canopy . . Thanks for the feed back!

I have inkbird controllers for temp and humidity . Have dehumidifier ect ect . Plenty of fans . Dealt with pm on my first outdoor grow . I know the woas lol

No worries . Just try an utilize the most of the equipment I have . Not sure if it was beneficial to do 1 month veg with multiple plants for quicker harvests or do 2-3 month veg for a couple plants and go that route . I’d like to be as efficient as possible . Was hoping someone would have on-site on the best path to take .

As one who prefers to manage fewer root masses, I have been a fan of SCROG growing. Weaving the plants to fill a 2 square foot net then flipping to 12/12 gives you lots of good sized tops while not having to manage too many plants. I've pulled 15 oz. from a 2 x 4 tent with 2 plants in that set-up.

VEG time depends on the type of grow you want.

If you don't want to train them and you just let them grow upright - then you can flip to flower in 6 weeks. The plants will not be as wide so you can get 8 to 10 of them in a 4' x 4'. I can comfortably fit 6 of the basic "Christmas Tree" style plants in my tent. That leaves room for fans/hardware, the flower stretch and doesn't overcrowd the space too much. I am still able to provide good air movement within the canopy.

If you want to go with a training technique, such as the SCROG set-up, it can take 10 - 12 weeks to train the plants and weave them to fill out the netting. And with the wider canopy per plant, you could only get 4 plants in that set-up.

Is your preference to care for fewer large plants or more smaller plants?

I see . I’ll probably end up going the 4-6 route . I appreciate your time and advice man . Tryna make the most out of it
