i drop my seeds into a cup of filtered water for like an 1 or 2 then i wrap it in a paper towel somtimes even a regular towel wet with filtered phed water zip lock it up then i just leave it in a drawer or somthing dark room temp 2-3 days for sure then i drop them into a rapid rooter you can germinated with those too. seems alot of people like the towel way its easy and cheap

truthfully germinating seeds is the easiest thing out of the whole growing process....if you don't have patience to let a seed crack.....well.....the whole growing process is going to drive you mad, because it requires a lot of patience, research, and understanding ... basically, germinating should be the least of your problems.... this is a real bullshit question (not mad at you, just letting you know)

read up on the vegging stage since you're already germinating.... people on here don't mind questions... its just certain questions gets on people nerves because they know it takes a little bit of reading to get a lot of questions answered instead of posting up a thread and waiting for replies.... by doing research...it gets all the bullshit questions out the way and lets you think of more serious questions that could be potential problems later on in your grow....

you see how you got all these answers just for germinating and basically all of them boil down to the same shit..... paper towels, moisture, plates, dark area and warmth...not difficult stuff... but something you should be more worried about is stretching, lighting, lumens, co2, the signs of overwatering, rootlock, when to transplant after sprouting, what should you mix in your soil etc., these are things that will effect you and your plant way more than germination..

I've had a 100% germ rate using papertowel method. Fold papertowl, place seeds in the middle, wet paper towel and then seal in a ziplock bag and on top of the cable box it goes. After 1-3 days all of my seeds have sprouted and then into the dirt!
lol this method was explained already and u dont always get 100% maybe u have gotten lucky but i germinated 5 bc god bud seeds recently all in the same dish and only 4 germed and same thing happend again but i only tried another 3 but only 2 germed

I like the KISS principle..

I put mine in a glass of water, and set them on my bass amp (turned on, of course). Keeps the water about 85F. After 12-24 hours, I tap them lightly and if they sink, I plant them. So far, I've just done one grow with 8 plants, but had 100% take.

i still stand by my method... put seed in dirt, add water. but i suppose you hydro guys have to germinate beforehand as those growblocks probably stay too wet...

really?.....hmm....well I am about to start my second round of plants in my hydro dripper bucket. The first time around, I just soaked the stonewool in distilled water for about 2 hours then stuck the seeds in them pointed down.....week later I has little sprouts.

Should I germinate them before putting them in the stonewool this time? :-?

you hydro guys have it a little bit different... germing is something yall have to consider; us soil growers dont.... but they all seem to...

i have only tried hydro once, and i sprouted in the rockwool.... if it has worked for you already, then why not??

In case you missed my other posts, I'm a first timer. I attempted the paper towel method and was totally unsucessful, I didnt' get a single seed to germinate. Then I went out and bought a seedling/clone heat mat made by Hydrofarm and all my seeds germinated less than 3 days after.

I soaked the seeds in water for 2-4 hours then placed them directly in the growing media (flexiplugs). I kept them enclosed in a dome for maximum greenhouse effect. 100% success this way so far...

My prefered method - get a cotton wool ball, unwind it so you get a strip, run under the tap til its dripping then wring out, stick seeds on top, fold rest of strip over seeds then put in a sandwich bag in the airing cupboard for 3-4 days...
