okay so i recently created a new strain, I was hoping would be just what im looking for outdoors, its a mix of a indica dominant and a sativa dominant.

I harvested some of the seeds that have finished, i picked about 15-20. and I tried germinating ~8. different methods, paper towel, straight into wet medium, water in cup, etc. I just want to grow out 5 for a bit to see if theres any obvious varying phenos; and if i created a indica dom or a sativa dom.

whats the best way to germinate fresh seeds, picked a few days ago?? ive had 0% germ rate on these seeds out of 5. i have 3 more attemtping to germ right now. 2 in paper towel 1 in soil.

or do i need to let them sit out for a few weeks to dry before they are viable??

I've better luck "aging" them in the fridge for a month.
how should i got about this? airtight lock in a sandwich bag with a dessicant? would i even need a dessicant...seems un-necessary because nature wouldnt really pack seeds with dessicants and they would germ fine.

would it be okay to just let them sit out on a plate, room temp around 18C-24C. so far thats what ive been doing...

Dry rice is very good at keeping the moisture situation under control. I don't know about the fridge, but keeping them cool is a good idea for sure. Maybe in the butter keeper inside of a film cannister with a 50/50 mix of seeds and rice.

I germinate all my seeds in coco. I keep the media around 70 degrees and place the seed in it when very saturated. Takes 3-4 days for most seeds before they are above ground.

If you have enough seeds throw some in the fridge and throw some in some coco. See what happens. Also make sure you are doing the squeeze test to be sure they are viable.

yes i do the squeeze test ofcourse! I have alot of seeds, like 300+ on the plant, and i only need like 5 for next year so yeh I got alot of room to play around. im gonna try packing some with dessicant in fridge and w/o dessciant in fridge, dessicant room temp/dark and w/o dessicant same. so pretty much a few different drying conditions with and without dessicant to see if it makes any difference. I will see if any have a higher germ rate then others after 2-4weeks
