My buddy had like a 600w kicker amp and a boston acoustic 8" sub in his. it was the only box the place had that would fit under the back seat. it pounded really well. it could drown me out and i have a set of lungs and love to sing. we listen to heavy shit tho...

listen to all of your picks to tho. A lot of people really get way to involved with the numbers and jus have to have the best of everything.
for me if i can have my windows down on the highway and NOT hear the Harley roarin past me, im good with that.

that being said, it takes a lot less power to accomplish that than youd think.

I also have/ had audio equipment here that most people wouldnt even know what it is let alone be able to afford it. and its all completely unnecessary.

get some quality pieces that match each other well.

Go to crutchfield, i dont know how the site is, but the catalog has a lot of information in it, and they have a wide range of components to select from. request a catalog. read through it. then go online to find your best prices. ebay is still a great place to find deals. i know its lost some of its luster over the years, but i do 80% of my onlline shopping there, and amazon.
You've piqued my curiosity. I used to do the high-end audio thing. I invite you to PM me. cn

they put rockerfosgate with a 1600 watt amp for the subs got a cap. a pioneer touch screen in dash even though my trucks dash is singke dent some how they put it in
Oh, also, if you go with a big boy system, expect to buy a 8v preout deck. that 4v preout crap doesn't work at high power. I paid 600 for an eclipse 8v preout, 10 farad cap, kicker solo x in spec ported box with alphasonik 3000x1 amp. I got that price cuz I knew someone. So.. try and get the homie hookup is my recommendation. Ask around, some people have stereo equipment laying around collecting dust. Throw em a few bucks and walk away with beats.

someone just stole my poineer touch screen flip out dvd player.. yah, i was pissed.. :(

i got kicker subs and like a 756.4 amp, 6.5 inch separates in the doors, and sirius radio.. sirius is awesome if you have a kick ass system as the sound quality is second to none imo..

i have to say i'm a bit taken aback c/n, i'd never have you pegged for an audiophile..
I was, when i could afford it. I am having all sorts of trouble with my front ends. One CD player went south on me (transport, and not worth repairing), and the other is going wonky (worth repairing, but I'm sort of broke) and I just recently found out that my super whizbang phono cartridge is only firing on one channel. i have a spare (not as whizbang, but good) which i need to install. I've been busy tending to <cough!> greener pastures. cn

jl audio 13 with 2000 jbl amp will beat the doors of that bitch no matter what you listen to. Just be sure to get some tweeters in there with it or it isn't that fun. I got a 7" panasonic double din and the jl 13 with the 2000 jbl and jbl component system in a avalanche I can rattle the rear view of the car next to me.

w7 is no joke
No it sure isn't, I've blown my back window out 3 times lol. I don't turn it all the way up anymore.

That thing thumps and hits tremendous lows. I tuned it with a frequency disc and my meter. It's right on. I can hit steady thumps at 20hz with no distortion or roll off. LOVE IT!

I kind of got lucky to come across some of the stuff i had or kept. High end cables ( companies like transparent audio laboratory, audioquest, and such.) not monster cable stuff. sound isolation cones, black diamond racing carbon fiber plates (vibration isolation products to isolate the tubes basically).tube driven DAC unit(maybe a macintosh ??,cant remember now, was a while ago), but it was expensive at least by my standards. I kept a lil 35 watt sca-35 tube amp, nicer old roland turntable, some misc cables, fiber optics and such. I sold a bunch of stuff at one point, tubes, and whatever I realized I didnt really need. I had a s-video cable that was as big around as your thumb (transparent audio). probly other stuff in there i forget about, most of the stuff in general people dont even know is available. the same people who pay stupid money like 1000$ a foot for speaker cables and shit buy this stuff.

The power cable I use for my vox guitar amp is made with 10g wire, runs around 260$ last time i checked. Just one of the pieces I kept, cuz i did have a use for it.

frikn had a sweet old fisher f-500 (? i think thats the model) all tube powered receiver, pretty desirable amongst audiophiles.

i still have a few misc tubes, stuff that will work in my amp or others. cables, hooked my ps3 up to my receiver with fiber optic. And i really liked the lil sca35 tube amp, from the late 60's - mid 70's maybe? still works good, and wasnt worth all that much.

at one time i really thought it was kool to have all this stuff that cost money, but with spiritual development, at some point one realizes the root is a ego driven desire of oneupmanship.
i have no desire to prove anything to anyone. sometimes the flesh is weak tho haha. Im perfectly flawed, like most.

now my only desire is to grow bud.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. I love growing this plant.

Oh and your right money doesn't buy happiness. I'd be content if I could grow to my hearts desire and just lived off the land. I'm so ready for summer!

I went solid state. i listened to tubes v. SS at a couple of retailers, and liked the SS sound better.

But I still loves me my black plastic. I would not say good digital is better or worse than good analog, but ... different. I get a thrill dragging a rock through a gutter. cn
