Best strain for an activity?

I was wondering what strain you would consume (given the choice) for any activity.

For example; you were going for a bike ride or wanted a heavy duty sleep. This is an example you might say golf or playing computer or pain or out in a drinking social circumstance (i don't drink but I do smoke weed).

It may seem obvious to you, but not to me. Can you be more specific than indica or sativa.
