Best bait to catch stripper and cat fish

This will help out. After you catch those fish and clean them. dig a hole throw whats left into the hole fill it up and plant mj over it.

Catfish (better than carp) : They will eat anything - as stated earlier - generally at night. kinda like fishing for a stoner :)

Striper : I have spent many O' summers when I was younger at Lake Mead fishing for these bastards.. if they are in an active state, they group and corral smaller fish before they feast - and you can kind of see the water "boil" - that's when I pull out the Zara Spooks (looks like a floating torpedo)... If they are not so active... I will use a heavy Kastmaster (gold or silver) primarily for the weight and long casts. For dead bait - anchovies is really the top choice.

Ahh I want to go fishing.

lol that would be tastey. My wife would have my ass if I used her blender to grind up fish guts.

Not to sure about stripers but up here in Canada on the Red River which is a world class catfish fishery, a majority of people use cut goldeye which are a oily fish and shrimp. Seen many 40 inchers caught on these. Not sure if you have goldeye in your neck of the woods though.

You need come on up to Canada and catch yourself some walleye, best fish you will ever eat :)

i disagree. here on the columbia its hard to beat a 12 lb spring chinook that looks like a mirror, or even a fresh steelie that has sea lice still on it, hell even the sturgeon!

gold eye huh. ima try and find sum of this.

Stripers only reproduce where they have a long stretch of gravel bed in which to deposit their eggs.
That's why they are found mostly in rivers and big lakes. Use trout roe with a small hook and fish
on the bottom. Stripers like moving water so use a lot of lead to stay down.

'Cats live and feed on the bottom. Traditionally the stinkier a bait the better the catfish like them.
CAN'T MISS CATFISH SECRET -- Buy a few cans of the cheapest dog food you can find and poke holes
in all but 2 of the cans. Put other 2 cans in 'fridge. Put holed dog food cans in a burlap sack (or pillowcase)
and drop the bag where you plan on fishing the next day. The food scent will attract the 'cats to your area.
Open the cold cans of dog food and cut chunks to fit a #2 or #4 hook. Some will tie the dog food onto the hook.

Good Luck, BigSteve.

i like using big chunks of frozen mackeral for catfish with treble hooks largemouth and turtles like it too lol its some nasty shit and thaws fast then chums up the area

Best catfish bait is Liver! Thats all I ever use. Just be carful and not sling it off when ya cast. Keep it cold.

I catch hella striper like sumtimes we will catch 20 to 30 not that big but its still fun. I want to catch a big one this time. evertime I get one on the line I swear its a shark then i real in this whimppy thing lol

Personally, I think they're trash fish like suckers/carp - catfish taste muddier the bigger they get...I stick to salmon spearing and trout :)
