Stripers only reproduce where they have a long stretch of gravel bed in which to deposit their eggs.
That's why they are found mostly in rivers and big lakes. Use trout roe with a small hook and fish
on the bottom. Stripers like moving water so use a lot of lead to stay down.
'Cats live and feed on the bottom. Traditionally the stinkier a bait the better the catfish like them.
CAN'T MISS CATFISH SECRET -- Buy a few cans of the cheapest dog food you can find and poke holes
in all but 2 of the cans. Put other 2 cans in 'fridge. Put holed dog food cans in a burlap sack (or pillowcase)
and drop the bag where you plan on fishing the next day. The food scent will attract the 'cats to your area.
Open the cold cans of dog food and cut chunks to fit a #2 or #4 hook. Some will tie the dog food onto the hook.
