Best age to top?

When will be the best age for me to top my plants and how long in? They are around 5-7 inches tall now and have around 5 nodes starting they have been in 20ltr pots of coco now for 2 days should I top them now or leave them to settle in longer? iv got 8 plants in a 8ft by 4ft by 6ft height grow tent was going to top them twice so I get 4 main colas instead of the normal 1? best time for me to top and height to switch into flower. Thanks ( Afghan Kush )

After the 3rd node your good to TOP/FIM. Look into fimming if you don't know what it is, I prefer it to just normal topping.

I usually wait til transplants are somewhat established in their new environs-- 1-2 weeks...then top/fim/supercrop 1-2 spots a week for the next 4-6 weeks & leave em alone 2 weeks b4 flip to bloom

I'd wait another 3-5 days or so before topping. Any additional stress stacked on top of the stress from the recent transplant might have an adverse effect, like stalled out growth, decreased yield, hermieing... The less stress the better. Like someone already said before, look into fimming, it's worth looking into.

IMO most strains like to be pruned to a certain extent. It increases branching and also can promote root growth. I prefer to fim if I am growing indoors and bending branches. It seems to even out the canopy nicely. Outdoors I like to top so I can get larger main branches. I don't see transplanting being stressful to a healthy specimen as long as you are planting in the same soil.

the longer you wait to top the more "medium" sized buds youl end up with...depends on your preference n the strain... if your going for 20 mediumr nugs or 10 monster nugs
