Best additives for flowering Sativa dominant hybrids??

Hey guys, I am going into the 3rd week of flowering my sativa dominant ladies and they don't like much stress. Except the Blue dreams and headband, those like the nutes and heavier feeding but the strawberry og/ og kush hybrids are sensative as F**K ><

I would like some more opinions, I been watching this video so I been following a lot of his advice and its been going good so far, http://youtu.be/jQn1pD2p2Tw Nutrients for cannabis success.

Now my other questions are;

Near the end for his flowering phase he uses Floralicious and flora nectar for the bloom additives. I'm getting ready to feed again additives after the soil dries , a few days ago I gave them some of the GH Flora series, I used 4 ML of the Nitrogen Floramicro then 5 ML of the other two, ( Bloom and grow) so what I should be using for the additives now? I'm assuming i should not use the seaweed for the roots (Biogrow) and the flora blend anymore and switch to either the bud candy or just the flora n nectar? Or can I also keep using the Florablend for a bit longer along with other bloom additives?

I need to note that I'm using soil btw, so I wonder if the GH chart Diamond Nectar and liquid koolbloom do much? Some reviews people said this is best for a reservoir with soil-less mediums.

Thanks in advance guys!:blsmoke:

That guys got a pretty simple and sweet set up.

i use different nutes but its still a 3 part synth like GH and i use botanicare cal/mag as well but no superthrive.

The only additive i use during flower is Snow Storm Ultra.

Made by Humboldt Countys Own.

Shit will make your buds rock hard.

5ml per gallon, once a week, starting at a week or 2 before flower. One 8oz bottle lasted me almost a year.

A little goes a long way. That plus a little molasses will be all you need besides your flowering base nute.

Alot of times less is more.

5-6 drops of Super thrive? careful bro I heard more than 1-2 can cause problems.

I grow in soil which I make up through compost and native soil with composted manure, woodash, biochar and rice hulls. That being said I also supplement waterings with manure teas throughout the grow from about week 4 through harvest. Additives sometimes I will use cal with fuvic acid, they don't sale cal/mag per se here. I tend to use a little more seaweed extract, say a half a dose per watering in flower. I also use a balanced organic food 6-8-6 throughout the grow when needed. The sativas usually don't get much of anything except the seaweed in flower, they just don't eat much or want much if your soil is good. The big thing I use also throughout, molasses up to a tbsp per gallon of water. Feeds the soil and some of the sugar molecules are readily available to the plant.
Sativas especially the tropical sativas don't want much added to them. They grow in pretty thin soil in their natural habitat. Good Luck

Sweet thanks for the advice. I noticed the blue dream strains love about anything and even the Headband strain but yea when it comes to my strawberry kush/ o.g kush or high Sativa dominant strains... they cry and moan. I was able to fix a mistake I was making during a feeding micro/grow/bloom of the GH trio series. 1 or two weeks into flowering and they begun to turn greener now from yellowing and shriveling up.I was thinking it was a Nitrogen but then leaned more to a zinc deficiency.

Buds are continuing to grow now going into the 5ht week of flower. I start with a watering, (distilled under 60ppm water) every 3 days with cal+Mag and a drop of superthrive, then 3-4 days later depending on weight and look on plants, feed the General hydroponics trio series,(6.75Ml per/gal of Micro. 2.75 of grow. 8-9 of bloom/per gal, with cal+mag and a drop per/gal of Superthrive...around 6.6PH with 900PPm...
3 days after that, I add the additives, then back to a watering of plain ph water etc..repeat.

I decided to go with more of the GH series bloom additives a buddy had for a good deal, please let me know what you think about my schedule... so far they seem to be liking it expect for the Strawberrys those might need a a lesser dose I can already tell. So here is a list of the additives Im using for the rest of the flowering until last 2 weeks I will just feed balanced Ph water.

1Ml per/gal Floralicious plus * highly concentrated and contains seaweed.
10Ml/per gal of organic molasses
350ppm of cal+mag
1 drop per/gal of Superthrive.
and sometimes 5 to 10 ML/per gal of organic florablend **very low npk wont burn plant and all organic, it adds size and aroma a little.
then I plan not to add that florablend and start the liquid KoolBloom during my next additives feed.

watch your use of superthrive during flower.......I love the stuff for cloning and during veg for stress related issues but it can prolong the length of time needed to flower. I don't know all of your products but keeping the leaves green and healthy will translate to a bigger tastier crop when harvested. It is all about the leaves and learning to grow by the signs your leaves tell you they want.

must be nice nute-burn your plant. 8ml/gal =120ppm of P and 240 of K :eyesmoke:

350ppm of calmag? way too much man, u should aim 200 max in hydro and probly max 100 in dirt. 900ppm of nutes.... hope you are in hydro, in dirt it's again way too much, u should aim 400-500 in dirt. floralicious is florablend improved formula....

I have to say you are right about the 350ppm, It usually consisted of 5ml per gal during these weeks of mid flowering to reach that level.

I was using around 2ml -2.5ml per gal during veg, but i noticed the high sativa dominant strains did not like it so much when I started adding more last week, and when i mixed up my base nutes ( I got confused during a week or two in beginning of flowering because the Micro showed a High Nitrogen % so I added less of that during flowering, then I realized that the Micro formula was much needed at a higher dose than the Grow" formula) So I reduced the ratio of the grow and raised the micro and of course keeping the bloom formula high.

noob mistake but the plants have gone out of the lock out it seems, green is back! and buds continue to grow, It's another reason why I thought they were lacking nutes when I saw them yellowing, very pale almost white, it was a possible Zinc lock-out or Nitrogen due to the plant not getting the micro elements.

Until i switch to dwc i will lower my ppm for the rest of the flowering see how they end up doing, Less is more for sure and I think I will stop with the Superthrive now that im going into mid-late bloom to avoid any possible defects i been reading about.

So Yes in my conclusion the high sativa strains are a pain in the ass but they were really beneficial in showing the problems right away before it spread to the rest of the other plans who are more tolerant. Besides the fact I love sativas but I'm thinking of only growing Blue Dream and Headband after this harvest, they are less sensitive and they are frosty, gettin nuggier and smell amazing. maybe even getting more heavy indica plants to try out next grow when I add more equipment and switch to hydro. I had a buddy tell me about some of his indica plants that needed close to 1300-1500 ppm during later of his flowers to stay happy and some he had that would burn to a crisp with that ratio. So I will keep a log on my strains until i figure out my favorite one here in maybe 5-7 years lol

Great advice so far guys! Many thanks:bigjoint:

HI RIU! I'm back with picture updates on these final weeks of harvest... I would like to know if this is a good idea after a mid flush I just did....

I posted new picture updates that you can see in the recent journal I just made today or here: https://www.rollitup.org/blogs/blog31314-my-bluedreams-look-blue-lol.html

Basically I took more pictures of the girls before a flush, I felt that they needed one since I haven't flushed once yet and salt may have built up too not to mention I think i burned them last week a lil.

so now its been over 3 days and they are going to get fed today or tomorrow morning, thinking as I wrote in that journal of using ( General Hydroponics trio) in the amounts of 5ml Micro/ 2ml of the grow and 6ml of the bloom per/gal, adding 3ml of cal+mag with distilled water.

keeping the ppm lower than 450. PH 6.4

So I'm wondering how many more feeds should they get, assuming we got 3-4 weeks left the blue dreams prob got 2 weeks left...(I have to check again with the microscope) and if I should also start lowering the amounts of the feeding the next few times?

Keep in mind they in a 3gal pot. I just been using a galon of water for all of them, wondering if that's too little? I usually get a good enough run off and they dry up in 2-3 days, then I add additives,(molases, floralicious plus and soon kloombloom next additive feed I still haven't got it yet :P
So after a additives feed, 3 days later I go back to a watering, then back to a feeding, etc.

Thanks guys!:bigjoint:

Im using the Foxfarm Trio. My plants like heavier feedings and handle to it well, without any signs of toxicity or nute burn. Its all in the plant and the strain. Feel you plant out if she can handle more stuff the bitch till she cant eat no more. Good luck
