So Im about to get my 2nd grow started and im doing a 3000w vertical and was looking up on these digital ballast. But ive heard that 1000w hortilux bulbs dont work well with lumatek 1000w. Has anyone heard of any problems like this? I originally wanted to use lumatek 1000w ballasts but am having 2nd thoughts after i heard of so many problems with the hortilux 1000w. If anyone has any input on this i would really apreciate it. I went to my local hydro store and they told me the same thing that they are trying to swerve away from lumatek because of the problems and they told me they are trying to go with quantum (but this may be a marketing scheme) SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.

I just got done trying to set up my new 1000w lumatek 240v ballasts. After trying 1000w EYE Hortalux MH Blue daylight, they would flash but not fire up. After switching to 1000w Hortalux Super HPS, they came right on. I have to find out whats up later. I saaw that there are some bulbs that are hard to strike, but that they have some sort of adptor that helps. Will have to see tomorrow.
Im running a 1000 watt lumatek with a Hortalux Blue eye MH bulb and Ive had the flashing and no strike issue as well, but it was only after about a 20 min power outage. I waited a couple hours with my cooling fan going and have never had the problem again. I had talked to lumatek and they mentioned two possible reasons....... one was making sure you dont wire a neutral wire in your electrical system and two wait at least an hour to restrike. hope this helps
