Benefits of playing music to your babies?

Hey guys not sure if this is the right section for this to be posted, but here goes: Anyone else play music to your babies? I stopped a couple weeks ago, but the whole time my plants were in veg I played a constant mix of metal, jazz, blues in the room. I have 2 plants that both were bag seed from a friend. When I switched to flowering I stopped playing them music. Not for any particular reason. They have been in flowering for almost 2 weeks now and I have noticed that they are both females now!!! This excites me seeing as how they were both random bag seeds I wasn't even really expecting 1 to be female let alone both. The pics attached are from last night. First time growing. 5 1/2 weeks old from seed with MG soil and MG nutes, all fluorescent lighting. The music HAD to help these girls. What u guys think?

I think you smoked before you posted this... I do play music to my babies but just because I enjoy it while I am in there too.

there are some studies that say this is helpful (and some people)

the studies said classical and rock had the best effect.

i do know my cats love music and for the plants? dunno, but music is vibrations, maybe they "feel" it

not that im playing music all the time, nor do it for that (just play music when i feel like it, im in the same room)

but there are some that have special speaker systems for their plants and say it helps

personally i dont know.

My buddy plays classical music 24/7 in his grow room

i thnik you were just really lucky.but it would be pretty sweet if your plants would grow because of some bad ass jimi hendrix riff haha

ya man i actually have seen the studies that prove music does positivley influence plant growth and development. however not the metal part lol. i love metal, but itsa not as good for the planties. the studies showed that soft classical music played for a few hours a day and always at the same time gives the plant a type of outside stimuli that produces favorable results. never actually tried it first hand myself though. you should keep trying with a few more, some wityh and some without music, and see which ones do better and let us know!

Yea I kept 2 old phones with mp3 players on them charged constantly and while one was charging one was playing and the playlist was alot of different stuff but mostly really heavy shit. I had read some things about classical and all that too but I wanted to see if/how the heavy stuff would do. I was just interested to see if any of you guys had noticeable positive effects with any kind of music constantly being played. I don't know why I stopped the music, mainly got tired of changing phones out twice a day but I think when my lights come on tonight I'm gonna start singin to them again.

i play all my seelings metallica so they want to come out and see whats up.

Yeah... I play my girls techno when they are awake... I think its a cool buz playing them techno when they are growing then listening to techno when im smoking them... music is just the vibrations (or energy) and im sure it stimulates growth....

I was thinking the idea of playing music to your plants was maybe linked to singing to your plants which would have definite benefits but vibrations from music to be strong enough to affect a plant in anyway would more than likely be loud enough to alert authorities depending on the situation.

or...maybe their ears are sensitive :/

Those plants care about the music as much as a chicken cares about living in a cage. They are just stupid plants, water and feed them correctly and they will produce what you want and then you can kill them and rob them of their meat and move on to the next. You are a consumer, fucking act like it!

^LOL, exactly. I'm SURE the 'music thing' has been tested, hundreds, if not thousands of times, and if there was any truth to it, we'd all know by know, and every serious grower would be doing it.

i just thought it was interesting. I have heard from everyone that if you germinate only 2 seeds especially just some bag seeds, that your possibility of getting either to be a female is pretty rare. And how both of mine turned out to be female i started thinking what did i do differently that most people dont bother doing? Music is all i could come up with. When these girls are done and i start some more i will do the same thing and see if we get 2 females again i guess. someone else plant a bag seed and play it some dying fetus and gordian knot for 4 weeks straight.

Yea, Im a stoner who plays guitar in the same room as his plants. They don't look any better than anyone else's on here. It's a novel idea though. I've heard that "plants are people too," so who knows?

How the fuck do you know if plants like music??? Your right about being a consumer tho.... Lets face it we all are... As for the chicken reference you only have to taste the difference between a well cared for free range chicken to a "caged" battery farmed chicken to know that a little extra care given to what ever you comsume makes a massive difference... Although im pretty sure there aren't many free range chickens available in your local trailer park store...
