Elon Musk has been given almost 5 Billion, yes billion in subsidies. That's money taken right out of your pocket Pad. I thought we hated subsidies for rich people. Or is it just the rich people you don't approve of?

Elon Musk was not given $5B. Tesla Motors was given subsidies. The gov't thought it would be a good idea for electric cars to get developed, so they gave Tesla a hand.

Subsidies to campaign donors is cronyism when it's done no matter if we like them or not. When you guys start picking and choosing which campaign donors we are cool with getting billions, the next guy elected does the same thing with people you don't like. See the pattern?
I can imagine me trying to explain how it was my company that stole 5Billion dollars worth tax payer money, not me, and your reaction to that type of justification.

...just like they gave other carmakers a hand to do the same thing. Obama isn't playing favorites with his buddy, the other carmakers simply came to the conclusion that they weren't going to make any money, so they didn't ramp up production.
If we really want to challenge the grip fossil fuels have on our society, we might consider rescinding their subsidies! Exxon's ALONE would more than pay for every federal level social program outside of social security! That just doesn't seem like they have their priorities right, do they?

I saw two Tesla Model S on the road yesterday. I see (Nissan) Leafs everywhere, my cousin even owns one.
I wanna go all electric, but I have yet to see a carmaker offer an electric truck. It might be expensive, but even if it's just a Model S all wheel drive powertrain hiding under a pickup body, it would STILL be the horsepower and torque champ of the whole class!

So back to the original thread subject for a moment; Ben Carson is a doctor. Doctors understand how badly the war on drugs has hurt our country and its victims. Yet he wants to ramp it UP?
This schmuck has actually managed to get NEGATIVE credibility with me... I wouldn't trust this fuckin' guy with a knife to carve my thanksgiving turkey, let alone operate on me!
