Beginner Tincture Q's

Unfortunately, it looks like I need to try tinctures instead of vaping. Vaping is leading to lung issues. I am beyond brand new at this. Had no idea that I could make tinctures at home until just a few days ago. Been reading lots of articles / watching lots of YouTube vids, but still have questions…

Question #1:
I have AVB, saved trim, and cured buds. Can I mix all of them for one tincture, or would it be best to make 3 different tinctures?

As stated above
If processing a bit of AVB don't be surprised if you use a bit of solvent

What are your plans for the tincture?

Thanks for the comment. At this point, I plan on using the tincture sublingually. Need to research how else it can be used.

I'm so new to this that I'm not sure what you mean by use a bit of solvent w. AVB.

Anyone have a recipe that they love?
How much bud to alcohol amounts?

:weed:
My decarb numbers are 240f (115c) for 40 minutes in a conventional oven. These numbers can vary a little

I do cold extraction by putting 190 proof ever clear and the decarbed flower in the freezer for 24 hours
Grind decarbed flower then combine with the everclear in a mason jar go about a quarter to a half inch above the flower
Shake for 5 minutes and return ever clear and the jar with the contents back in the freezer for two hours
Remove ever clear and jar from freezer, shake 5 minutes then pour out through a filter
Try to keep as much of the ground up flower in the jar as possible, mesh filter helps
Add more ever clear to the ground flower in the jar and shake 5 more minutes
Immediately empty into the tincture you have
190 proof ethanol may be hard to get
Sometimes it can be mailed to you as culinary ethanol 200 proof, check your local laws

It can also be done with 151 proof, same steps, more suited for tincture and sub lingual use
Still burns
Some say not as potent but no evidence

For AVB freezing everything may not be necessary

A bit stoned writing this
Above is the filtering process of thunder struck 1:1 thc/cbd extraction
You can get an idea of what I use, stainless steel cone filter is a worthwhile investment
Saves you from torn paper filters

As for AVB
It is very dry and powdery and absorbs much more ethanol than trim and buds
I suggest you do a small amount and filter the crap out of it and then taste it before mixing it with your other tincture
Makes everything gritty

I do reduction and infuse oil and syrup

Infused simple syrup

So what did you plan to use to extract your material?

Have you ever eaten ABV bud? Tastes a bit nutty. Try half a gram, you may be surprised. :bigjoint:
Of course. Not my cup of tea. I vape at 185C until my weed is spent so there's not much left in there anyways. I always grow plenty of weed so I just use fresh bud for everything, vastly superior to AVB.
