Beginner patient needs growing tips.

Hi all, This will be my first cabinet indoor garage grow. Ive never tried this before but my meds are getting quite expensive after a while. So I have a 20 inch X 20 inch square box by 3 1/2 ft tall. Only one 5 gallon pot will fit inside my box. Can I use smaller pots and grow 2-4 plants to full potential without becoming root bound? I have 3 CFL bulbs 26 watt equivalent to 100 watts each and they say 2650 K spectrum. Can I use these bulbs to get me started in veg state. Meanwile I will buy 3 6500 K bulbs, and switch them over when it is flowering time. How much light minimum do I need per plant 2 bulbs? more? I will be using clones from my local dispensary. I also want to use 2 computer fans 1 for intake at bottom of cabinet. And the other at top of box for exhaust. Coco is my soil of choice, unless you guys can recomend me something better. Last question and sorry for going on so much, but for a newbie beginner as myself is it easier to grow a Sativa or an Indica. Any names you guys can help me with is greatly apreciated. quick growth time preffered 2-4 months My choices as of now would be. In Sativas Jack Herer,Odyssey,Headband. Indica Gran Daddy Purp, Diamond OG, Fire OG.Thanks to all for any advice to get me started. C.W.

veg u want 6,5000k and veg u want 2,7000 for flower u want soft white for flower im new grow have some babys going rigth now free to check it out

Sorry to hear about the price of your meds, that is why I moved to Costa Rica to get some relief from prices and to grow in peace. First of all in your small grow space sativas are not really an option as they tend to be tall and spindley. Indica you can keep short and allow them to mature enough to obtain your desired affect. If there is anyway you could increase your height you could use a bigger light......like a 105 watt cfl, much more light and bang for the buck but they are almost a foot long with the socket. I only grow my plants between 2 and 3 feet as a general rule due to handling concerns (weight and mold). Using 2 or 3 gallon containers is an option since your plants will be short, rule of thumb is one gallon per foot of plant height. It is possible to grow a good plant even with it being somewhat rootbound if the soil in top of the line and you have a good nute program. 420 is correct on the lights you need for veg and flower. you pots are way way huge for light you have. i posted i think in another of your threads about this. now i see what light you have and i had said a 1 gal is enough..now with small cfl id say not even 1 gal is needed..6 inch
those cfl are compared to a reg ol house light...incandesent..not hid. so you dont have much light power to grow or use bigger pots. if i was you under cfl id be flwowering them at like 6 inches at very most

im answering the guy that started the thread with the question....and hid are the best lights to use. cfl have their uses but are super week as far as penetration goes. his are only good for a couple inches of good useable light. id rather run a 250 hps. cost the same and no more heat

im veg under 2 26watt dayligthk 6,5000 full speturm rigth now my babys are goood but i will have get biger ligths more 26 watter i heard can grow plant with alot 26 watter b/c put out less then heat Hps

hello I wrote this thread. A guy at the hydro shop told me to forget cfls and just buy his 150 watt h.p.s or h.i.d I forgot which one he said. But if I do this I want to use only 1 bulb all the way from veg through flowering. so which bulb would work best for me? and would my fans be enough to cool off my cabinet since my light will give off more heat than the cfls.thanks cw

also you dont even want to think about a sativa in that small erea. no room for it and way longer growth time.

id agree with the hid light over cfl anyday. no more heat than many cfl, and hid relay arent that much to run. my 430 is only about 15 buck a month to run. not sure the fans are enough. nobody will till you try it. pc fans are kinda week. look at maybe a booster fan./ about 40 buck, or a bigger muffin fan
