beginner need help on aero garden

germinate in a paper towel, get the towel damp, and place seeds in side, put in a zip lock bag and store in a dark cool place, should crack in 2 days

oh ok i seen some ppl say get the paper towel damp put the seeds in there and then put them inside a dvd case and put it on top of the tv

that works, but i like the bags, always worked for me

can u give me the name of the lights that i will be needing and how many since this weekend im gonna go on a shopping spree for the stuff i need

I'm also starting the aerogarden growing in my closet. CFL are fluorescent light bulbs. Get the ones that are plug-in CFL. You can get them at any Homedepot or Lowe's. I dont know about which watt ones to get though

Regarding the tall plant question: You can get a "figure 8" cord for the AG light at Radio Shack. This lets you disconnect the light from the rest of the AG unit. You can hang the AG light from the ceiling or whatever after you disconnect it.

look for DAYLIGHT CFL's for Vegging, there the blue spectrum

and look for SOFT WHITE for flowering, there the red spectrum

omg thanks to all u guys seems like im on the right path and where can i get an air pump for the ag??is there a specific name or one i should get

no, just go to a loacal pet store, and look in the aquarium section or whatever haha, and they have Air Pumps, Air stones which give off the bubbles, and they have tubing for the pump and stone, 20 dollars or less

For the pump...I just got a cheap aquarium pump and an airstone and tubing at PetSmart. An additional pump is not 100% necessary with the AG but I do think it helped get more oxygen to the roots. I didn't spend more than about $20-25, as I recall.

You also want to get a "check valve" or "anti siphon valve" if the pump can't be sited above the AG unit--this helps keep water from being sucked back into the pump if something fails. (That could be dangerous)

Good luck and have fun! I've said it before and I'll say it again--the yield (quantity) from an AG may not be all that great, but I was VERY impressed with the quality. Whoo hoo!

Yea not necessarily needed, but its all beneficial, i dont got one and i wish i did, will use one one my next AG grow

ok got it im writing all these stuff down and what about the yield does it give u less then hydro and soil based about how much less and one question how many ounces or grams is 700 gr/sqm i dont want to say 700 grams just cuz it says it cuz its says gr/sqm not sure how much that is but thats the lowest super lemon haze can yield and it can yield up to 1000gr/sqm

the estimates they give you are based on if grown in the best conditions, with the best lighting and what not, you can eaisly get an ounce per plant with CFL's its all on the lighting, if you got the room and ventilation, go HPS, a lil more costly when it come to the Electricity bill month to month, but it will pay off in the long run, im lookin for persal usage, so CFL's are fine with me, of course later one I will go HPS, but im good for now

so u think i could get an oz with the ag and im still wondering how much 700gr/sqm is in ounces or grams or whatnor

haha yea not too sure on the 700 thing, but yea and ounce per plant can easily be done with enough CFL's, once you get the basics of growing marijuana, its pretty easy, as long as you do it right, the plants will bless you with wonderful buds haha

ok now dat i got everything heres is one more thing how can i keep the smell to a minimal level cuz im in a college dorm is there anything that kinda hides the smell somewhat

ok..but on a serious note is there anything i can use to suppress the smell

are ion fans good to suppress the smell cuz im myte get one and how long is it usually every grow cycle and what cfl's go to wha grow stage and one more question how many seeds can u put in the aero garden at a time without messing anything up such as plants get overcrowded and such

Ion fan should help, but its not going to get rid of it.

4 Full sized plants in a 6/7 pod AG is reasonable.

2 is Ideal.
